Chaplin portrayed both characters always made me think they are look alikes. I'm confused. This iconic little Tramp should deserve to be number 1.

Three outstanding and unique characters in one movie without it being at all distracting or convoluted. It is very possible for a viewer to not even notice it's the same actor. Remarkable. Has this type of performance ever been approached elsewhere?
