Top Ten Active Bands of 2017 that Aren't as Good as They Used to Be

There are tons of current music groups out there that have been active for years now. While many of them continue to prove to us that they deserve to be here, some seem to be outstaying their welcome. Why? It could be because they've changed their direction, switched out a few key band members, or lost their gift of writing quality songs. Whatever the primary reason is, they're alienating fans and need to make a decision as to whether they're going to try to make things right or hang up their guitar straps for good. This list compiles the top ten bands that just aren't what they used to be.

They were never good, it had to take an electro-pop album for people to realize.

There getting worse the longer there sell-outs

2 U2 U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. Formed in 1976, the group consists of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. U2's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music. Their lyrics, often embellished with spiritual imagery, focus on personal themes and sociopolitical concerns.

I actually never liked them, Their music bores me.

They always sucked in my opinion

... But like that Kendrick feature...

Although all they released was the Troubled Times video, that song can't hold a torch to even the worst of American Idiot or Dookie.

Green Day never sold out. They were always Pop-Punk and they're still good although I prefer Dookie and American Idiot more than they're newer albums.-LitSavage

Their Newer Stuff isn't as good as their older stuff BUT they still kickass and can make still make awesome songs after all these years All Nightmare Long and Spit Out the Bone can rival some of Metallicas classics

Hardwired to Self Destruct is just Death Magnetic part 2. And that album was just average in my opinion. Same goes for Hardwired. Spit Out the Bone is a monster though.

Totally. Just a boring trace of what they used to be. But at least they're still making music anyway. New Metallica is still Metallica.

9 Disturbed Disturbed is an American alternative metal/nu-metal/hard rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The band comprises vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren. They are known for songs like "Down With the Sickness" and "Stricken".

I disagree their newest album was great one of their best

In my opinion 'Dark Horse' was Nickelback's best album, though I think their new stuff, whilst a lot more understated is still pretty good.
'Feed the Machine' and 'Million Miles an Hour' are personal highlights.

15 Skillet Skillet is an American Christian rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996 and based in the United States.

Say what you will, with only a few good songs, Unleashed really was a terrible album as a whole. Rather than making good music like they once did, Skillet is more focusing on making "cool" songs. But most of Skillet's fanbase would probably prefer they just made good songs again. I know I'm not the only one who wants a return to the style of "Collide."

The first settled line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums). Eh this band is 57 years old so...

17 Tame Impala Tame Impala is an Australian psychedelic rock band founded by Kevin Parker in 2007. The group began as a home recording project for Parker, who writes, records, performs, and produces the music.

I personally cringe when I listen to Tame Impala's new album. It's like an annoying disco-pop sound, almost like its headed for full blown bubble gum pop.
