Top 10 Best AEW Wrestlers of 2021

The year 2021 is coming to an end. Looking back, it was a great year for wrestling and a great time to be a wrestling fan as there are plenty of promotions out there to choose from. Heck you can enjoy all of them if you want. All Elite Wrestling has provided fans with exciting matches all year so let's look at which AEW wrestlers had the best 2021.
The Top Ten
1 Kenny Omega Tyson Smith, better known by his ring name Kenny Omega, is a Canadian professional wrestler with Japanese citizenship currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he is the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion in his first reign.

Kenny Omega was the AEW World Champion for most of the year, delivering great matches against the likes of Jungle Boy, PAC, Orange Cassidy, Bryan Danielson, and Adam Page. He was also known as the "Belt Collector" for a time, as he was not only AEW's top champion but also the AAA World Champion and Impact World Champion simultaneously.

2 Britt Baker

Britt Baker rose to stardom at the beginning of the year after a brutal match against Thunder Rosa. Since then, she has won the AEW Women's World Championship and has been carrying the entire division on her back. Excited to see what she does in 2022.

3 Adam Page

"Hangman" Adam Page had a great 2021, as he finally captured the AEW World Championship after two years of storytelling and character work. His matches with Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson are highly praised as well.

4 Bryan Danielson Bryan Lloyd Danielson is an American professional wrestler best known for his tenure in WWE under the ring name Daniel Bryan. He is a five time WWE world champion.

Bryan Danielson has only been in AEW for a few months, but he is already being praised for the amazing matches he has had with Kenny Omega and Adam Page.

5 Maxwell Jacob Friedman

Ah, MJF. We all hate his guts, but credit where credit is due. He deserves his spot on this list as he is one of the "four pillars of AEW." He is by far one of the best heels in pro wrestling today and one of the best at promos. He has had great matches and feuds all year against the likes of Chris Jericho, the Inner Circle, Darby Allin, and Bryan Pillman Jr.

6 Darby Allin

Darby Allin is one of the most intriguing and fun-to-watch wrestlers on AEW's roster. Sting has been a sort of mentor figure for him this year, which is obviously amazing for him. He has provided fans with exciting matches all year, one of them being against CM Punk, his first match in AEW.

7 Miro Miroslav Barnyashev is a Bulgarian professional wrestler and former powerlifter and rower, better known by his ring name Rusev. He is known for his time in WWE, where he was a three-time United States Champion. Barnyashev is the first Bulgarian to have wrestled for WWE. He was released from WWE in April... read more

Miro has been a dominant force in AEW and held the TNT Championship for one hundred and forty days, beating opponents like Darby Allin, Lance Archer, Brian Pillman Jr., and Eddie Kingston.

8 Sammy Guevara

Sammy Guevara got his first taste of gold in AEW this year, winning the TNT Championship from Miro. He also was involved in big matches with his stablemates in the Inner Circle against MJF's faction, The Pinnacle.

9 Eddie Kingston

Eddie Kingston has been one of the highlights of AEW with his intense promos and great matches, especially in his feuds with CM Punk and Miro. He was also the tag team partner of Jon Moxley for a time. Looking forward to more of these promos in 2022.

10 Andrade El Idolo
The Contenders
11 CM Punk Phillip Jack "Phil" Brooks, also known by the ring name CM Punk, is an American comic book writer, actor, upcoming mixed martial artist and retired professional wrestler who is signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship... read more

CM Punk made his long-awaited return to wrestling this year, signing with AEW. His first appearance on AEW TV was memorable. That alone makes him deserving of a spot on this list, in my eyes. So far, he has been in good programs with Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston, and MJF.

12 Aaron Solo
13 Jungle Boy
14 Jade Cargill
15 Thunder Rosa
16 Ruby Soho
17 Malakai Black Tom Budgen is a Dutch professional wrestler best known for his time in WWE, where he performed under the ring name Aleister Black. Prior to signing with WWE, Budgen worked for promotions across Europe, United States, and Japan, under the ring name Tommy End. He was released from WWE in June 2021. He... read more
