Best Albums to Die Listening To

So genuine, so haunting that this is what you would want to hear when your time comes to an end.
The Top Ten
1 The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

Time, The Great Gig In the Sky, Any Colour You Like, Eclipse. Gotta be #1.

2 Abbey Road - The Beatles

Can make you happy, tense and angry. Also, "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make". That is the best reassurance that everything will be alright.

The Beatles the best

3 Kid a - Radiohead

Everything In it's Right Place, The National Anthem, Idioteque, and, most of all, Motion Picture Soundtrack. I would love for that to be the last thing I hear.

4 Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin

Battle of Evermore, Stairway To Heaven, Going To California, When The Levee Breaks. Great one to leave with. Also, the first couple of tracks can get you smiling a little bit.

5 Random Access Memories - Daft Punk

Hear me out. This album can take you through a lot emotions. From the dance-driven grooves which aren't as genuine, to the spacey epics like "Giorgio Of Moroder", "Touch" and "Contact". Very fulfilling. Also, "Instant Crush" is a great song to look back at things with.

6 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles

You feel like you're watching a concert of popular music at its finest. Also, that moment of silence in "A Day In The Life" would give you time to recollect on your memories before the bonus track interrupts, giving you acceptance for your fate.

I've already agreed that if I knew that I had an hour to live, then I would spend it listening to this masterpiece.

"Dark Side of the Moon" and "Appetite for Destruction" are honorable mentions.

7 2112 - Rush

An experience that you can never forget. A must-listen to to understand the greatness of this album. Perfect to go to.

8 The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie

Five Years alone is great to die to, let alone having the last words spoken to you be "gimme you hands, 'cause you're wonderful."

9 The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

Say all you want, but if you take out "Blood" then this is a great album to go to. "Welcome To The Black Parade", "Cancer", "Disenchanted", "I Don't Love You", "Famous Last Words". The B-side can be very fulfilling.

10 Ok Computer - Radiohead

Paranoid Android, Karma Police, No Surprises, Let Down, Exit Music (For a Film). I don't see why not.

The Contenders
11 A Night at the Opera - Queen

Bohemian Rhapsody is the best song in the world. But it's a star shining between Jewels. Prophet song is an equal epic song to BR. Absolutely astonishing is Love of my Love. You my best friend is written by Deacon and is also a huge world hit. The album begins with the stunning hard rock number Death on two legs which is a dream for every hard rock band. Followed by the very playful little genius Lazing on a Sunday afternoon. Here is the blistering I'm in love with my car of the drummer Taylor. Oh god what wonderful multilayered guitar solos of May, drumming of Taylor as if this is no beat but melody, perfect bass of Deacon, heavenly interplay between piano and guitar, choir singing better than any opera can provide and this is everywhere in the album. The song 39 is marvelous. Seaside rendezvous is fantastic. Sweet lady contains jazz elements. Good company is played on banjo. Extreme diversity unsurpassed by any band and by any album. The end is obvious God save the queen - an ...more

12 Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes From A Memory - Dream Theater

Two reasons:
1. It's the greatest album ever made
2. It makes you feel okay about dying. From Scene eight: The Spirit Carries On: "If I died tomorrow I'd be alright because I believe that after we're gone, the spirit carries on"

13 Blurryface - Twenty One Pilots

I actually didn't think of this. And now that I do, it's pretty fitting. Goner is a great song to go to.

14 Turn! Turn! Turn! - The Byrds

With lyrics straight out of the Bible, the title song could be a prayer or a farewell, either given or received.

15 Destroyed - Moby

To die watching the video to Lie Down In Darkness would be chilling, because you'd know what you're leaving behind. But you'd be listening to a masterpiece like no other.

16 American Beauty/American Psycho - Fall Out Boy
17 Demons & Wizards - Demons & Wizards
18 Issues - Korn
19 Avenged Sevenfold - Avenged Sevenfold
