Top 10 Albums Engineered by Martin Birch

Martin 'Star-Fish' Birch (born Dec 27, 1948) is a British music producer, sound engineer and mixer.

He worked with many metal and rock bands but became renowned for engineering Deep Purple's first 11 albums and Iron Maiden's first 9 albums. He also produced Maiden's first 9 albums.

Deep Purple dedicated to him the song "Hard Lovin' Man" from their 1970 album Deep Purple in Rock: "For Martin Birch - catalyst".

In 1970 probably nobody knew it but this was the song that pretty much invented the template for metal music.

Martin Birch knew how metal and hard rock should sound even when metal wasn't a thing. He is a genius who teamed up with other genius people.
