Top Ten Albums Nominated for the "Album of the Year" Grammy Award That Didn't Win But Should Have Won

The Top Ten
1 American Idiot - Green Day (2005)

This iconic album containing American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, St. Jimmy and Wake Me Up When September Ends among other brilliant songs didn't win. It's a deception, at least.

I wouldn't say conclusively it was the best album of that year. On the other hand I don't think many people remember Ray Charles final album like this one.

I'm surprised that this album didn't win. "Wake me Up When September Ends" Actully got me into Green Day and is the first song I cried to. And this album of course, should of won.

2 Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends - Coldplay (2009)

In my view, this could be the best album ever made.

3 X - Ed Sheeran (2015)

So surprised and disappointed Ed didn't win. What a fantastic talent he has. Ah well... He's still a winner in my eyes.
Lovely list, Martin :) I love you!

A fantastic album that had all chances of winning, but didn't.

Beyonce self titled deserve it more.

4 The Marshall Matters LP - Eminem (2001)

Featuring Stan and The Real Slim Shady, I wonder why this album didn't win.

How could this lose

5 Help! - The Beatles (1966)
6 Revolver - The Beatles (1967)

This album is considered by many the best album of history, yet it didn't win.

7 The E.N.D. - The Black Eyed Peas (2010)

The E.N.D. was a spectacular electronic risky album with excellent songs, including Boom Boom Pow, I Gotta Feeling and Meet Me Halfway among excellent songs.

The Fame and Fearless deserve it more.

8 Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles (1969)
9 Need You Now - Lady Antebellum (2011)
