Best Albums of All Time
The Contenders: Page 5
So so underrated album from most underrated band. Listen guys take this higher it deseves more.
This is a good album but it should NOT be this high up the list
I will not bow my favorite song from them
I didn't expect this one to go up this high in the list...but I have to say, it's an excellent albums
Are you kidding me, one of the best vinyl's in terms of guitar riffs. Deserves the top 50 at least I mean there's not even a bad song on here
My personal GOAT - Rambles
Come on? 99? IT should be in the top ten at least! This is by far the most experimental Weezer album, and Rivers Cuomo definitely indeed make this album the most honest and dark emotions that anyone has in the common like. If How could Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and even Fall Out Boy be above this? I've never heard so much raw passion and emotion in any other album! Let's get to the top 10!
A musical masterpiece. Back when it was released, it got some underground success in the emo world, but it was hated by the 1994 =w= fans, because it was more dark than there previous Blue album. But now it's a cult classic, and is one the best albums of all time. If anything, this albums is WAY more emotional than American Idiot, while this you can actually feel the emotions put into such an amazing album. It is a masterpiece of an album, and it will always be my favorite simply because it made me cry, and the emotions have changed me.
In all honesty It should be in the top 20 at Least. It has so much emotional background to it, there is no denying that this album is timeless. It's a cult classic and there will never be an album like it that touches you the way Pinkerton does.
One of the only albums that I won't skip any tracks on. best of all timeV 6 Comments
I just like the idea of animals throwing loads of poop at human beings. that just proves that animals don't like to be abused by humans so it's pay back time!
Has sold well over 23 million copies and has some of their best songs like "Longview" and "When I Come Around". Deserves to be in the top 15
The album that revitalized punk and created pop punk.
What?! Top 50 at least not 401...
This and American Idiot should swap places
Every single song in this album has a deep meaning embodied in itself. It is probably the best album of the greatest mellow rock band and U2's class is reflected in this piece of musical art. I on behalf of all U2 fans across the globe salute these legends who are responsible to bestow us peace of mind and satisfaction of soul
Look honestly this album should be in the top 10. Aside from the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and maybe Pink Floyd or the Stones, U2 is the greatest band, and aside from Achtung Baby, this is the greatest album. The Joshua Tree is full of lyrics that touch your soul in ways others simply don't. This album will understand you more than you understand you.
The greatest alum ever, where else would you find some of the greatest songs ever...This would pass as a best of album for any other band in the world.
Should be top 10V 11 Comments
Should be in the top ten! Every single song on this album is incredible and beautifully written. Clocks, politik, god put a smile upon your face, are all amazing but then again so is everything else on the album. It really shows Coldplay's true talent and versatility with each song. Incredible album
A lot of the albums above this, they just have two or three standout songs. This should be in the top ten because every track is a classic and is worth listening to.
Coldplay's most distinctive album, not just because of the made for radio hits (Clocks and The Scientist) but more importantly the more artistic statements made through the title track and Amsterdam. The best top to bottom album the group made.
I LOVE THE SCIENTIST, BEST ALBUM EVER!V 12 Comments
Alright. I am very confused as to why the doors are way down at number 39. Honestly people, do you really prefer shania twain and Linkin Park? This is ridiculous. The Doors album, The Doors is probably the single best debut albums for a band ever. Every song has it's own little twist and every song is absolutely in every way a piece of art.
"If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. " How Jim coined their name. This band is indefinitely one of the most important bands earth has ever experienced, and honestly should not be this low on the list.
One if the greatest bands of all time with the greatest keyboardist in rock, the most underrated drummer in rock, and the most inventive jazz guitarist in rock. Honestly they only have one kinda bad album in their discography and it isn't even that bad. It's criminal that this band is this low.
36 as a position for this sheer masterpiece is justification that humans have totally lost touch in music. But then again, you have to be at Jim's level to understand.
Some people didn't get the Doors. Maybe they got scared because Jim was a little too deep in what he was saying and they didn't get the message. Pink Floyd fans should dig the Doors because they're all about the message and feeling the music. Dylan and the Doors are kind of low on the list. People aren't digging the poetry I guess. - frankmartinV 13 Comments
This is the most hated album of the band, but it's the best. Just listen with good headphones, the lyrics are fantastic, the sound is innovative and complex. The conception of nuclear war is genius, listen songs like The Catalyst (my favorite of all the songs from all artists) Iridescent, Waiting For the End. Linkin Park fans unfortunately do not value this masterpiece, the best job of band. This deserves better placement, I vote for A Thousand Suns.
This NEEDs to be at the top. It's a smart album for once in music history. a smart BAND for once in music history - MaddSpazz
This is one of their worst. 2/10 - AlphaQ
This a garbage album, one of the worst LP has done. Horrible songwriting, production, vocals, everything about this album is horrendous. - SatireV 4 Comments
Beautiful, complex and honest. Trent Reznor's best and most tragic work. Not the right sound to resonate with the masses but just right for the disenfranchised or depressed. Must have listened to it 100 times by now and still in complete awe. Musically it's brilliantly layered and lyrically it's cathartic. Most importantly the coherence of the album makes its concept work all the better, allowing the listener to identify with the protagonist and follow him on his decent into nihilism and suicide. If you haven't listened to this album please do! You may find you love it even more than me.
This brought them to success. Greatest metal album of all time.
I think from a musical and a technical standpoint it is extraordinary but the lyrics can truely resonate with people in their darkest times.V 1 Comment
My favorite Maiden album from the 80's, it is their most consistently good work in my opinion, every song on it is worth listening to. Especially The Evil That Men Do and Infinite Dreams.
This whole album is just a damn journey to a place far away! Very underrated!
I love lots of MAIDENS songs but most of all The evil that men do
Masterpiece of an album.V 4 Comments
So what is the deal with Pet Sounds anyway? It's like people are in a trance with that album. I've listened to it several times and I like a few songs but the rest just reminds me of lullaby's for babies. The thing about albums is that the ones people rave about all the time aren't always that special. Some of the best are the ones that not as many people know about, they didn't get the recognition, sales and hype. I've never listened to Smile but it might be way better than Pet Sounds. - frankmartin
I think this is better than pet sounds, but I don't think many people have listened to it - RecklessGreed
By far the best album made in the 21st century. (The international version, that is).
I really can't describe what's so good about the album, it's just that it is awesome from the first to the last song. Short and intense!
Needs to be way higher... Such an amazing album with a brilliant, unique sound
An absolutely flawless album. This record alone kickstarted the rivival of rock music in the 21st century. Bands like Arctic Monkeys, the Killers and Franz Ferdinand wouldn't have been where they are now without Is This It.
There has always been too much hype and drama over Thriller and while it had some classic tunes it always seemed more like it was a circus with a dozen different writers and a whole room full of session musicians trying to be taken seriously. That was an album begging for attention. Prince was cool, he did it his way, no hype, just a musician and his music...here's the album, I think you'll dig it. He let the music do the talking and didn't try to impress anybody with choreographed big time budget videos and dance moves. Anyway check out Purple Rain the deluxe edition. - frankmartin
Prince has to be the most talented guy ever. If Sign O' The Times was on this list I would've voted for that one but Purple Rain is still an excellent album. I love every single song, but my favorite off this album is The Beautiful Ones, the way he screams in that song always gives me chills and makes me wish I could have the voice to sing with the passion and raw sexual energy that he had! He's my favorite artist ever.
Let's Go Crazy, The Beautiful Ones, Darlin Nikki, I Would Die 4 U, Baby I'm A Star, WHEN DOVES CRY, and PURPLE RAIN
Easily the best of the 80s, has to be the best of all time considering the great decade that wasV 10 Comments
The king of the guitar at his best. All Along The Watchtower, Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Chile. This album is electric, energetic, original, full of virtuoso Hendrix performances. This is the best album ever produced!
So deserves to be in top 20 at minimum.
Jimi's in a class of his own and doesn't need to compete with second rate albums. Just look at all the albums that beg to be number #1. The greatest album is the one you think is the greatest. - frankmartin
Better than Are You Experienced by a mile.
It seems you haven't been experienced enough to make a comment like that. Jimi's first three albums are consistent masterpieces and anybody that knows Jimi knows this to be true. - frankmartin
The greatest punk album of all time. This is THE album of the people. Even though it's rough around the edges, without it, music as we know it wouldnt exist
Uncompromising in every way. It felt like a declaration of war when it came out.
Raw punk at its finest. London calling and dookie are also good.
It is an album, but they started something very important.V 5 Comments
