Top 10 Alternate Pickers

This is a simple list involving guitarists who have the greatest alternate picking styles. Well, its from my opinion since alternate picking is massively used by guitarists. But you could choose from your own will.

1 Yngwie J. Malmsteen Yngwie Johan Malmsteen is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and bandleader who was born on June 30th, 1963, in Stockholm, Sweden. He was known for his neoclassical metal playing style back in the 1980s.

Fast, accurate, unique. At first I thought that he is using sweep picking in some parts, but turned out it was alternate picking.

6 Glenn Tipton Glenn Raymond Tipton is an English Grammy Award-winning guitar player and songwriter. He is most commonly known as the lead guitarist for English heavy metal band Judas Priest.

He was one of the fastest alternate pickers of his time. Exciter is one of his greatest examples of it.

7 Chuck Wayne

Back in his days, there weren't much guitarists who could use unique picking like Chuck Wayne. Chuck Wayne was known for his unique picking style including alternate and sweep picking.
