No other cartoon can do what Avatar: The Last Airbender has done. ATLA is an amazing series that brings in action, drama, humor, and an epic story line. It throws all of these in, and perfectly times every scene in just the right way, throwing in certain things, such as humor, at just the right time. ATLA is a great series for the entire family, and truly shows what two great writers are capable of.

The Best the best the best, simply the best! Artwork, story, characters, soundtrack - everything's there!

7 Looney Tunes Looney Tunes is an American animated series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. from 1930 to 1969 during the golden age of American animation, alongside its sister series Merrie Melodies.

Guys, this should be number one, this completely changed cartoons forever, without this, you wouldn't have your beloved cartoons you have today.

Kind of a bad idea to "lump" all of these great cartoons together.
All of those great titles like Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, etc, etc, etc, deserve their own listing.

Most of the cartoons on this list including this one makes me wonder why people say animes are better and always will be.

8 Animaniacs Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs is an American animated comedy television series produced by Amblin Television label in collaboration with Warner Bros.

The animaniacs turn the most dull of activities (like listing all of the countries in the world) into something you want to watch over and over on repeat!

People who are as just as insane as the Warners, that's who.

My favorite cartoon show from the 90's.

9 Gravity Falls Gravity Falls is an American animated television series produced by Disney Television Animation that first aired on Disney Channel, and then on Disney XD from June 15, 2012 to February 15, 2016. The series follows the adventures of Dipper Pines and his twin sister Mabel in the fictional town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, while on summer vacation.

Oh, it's more than just a cartoon, there is a lot more action behind our simple beloved characters, Mabel and Dipper Pines. But yet the Gravity Falls's fan base keeps on growing due to the labrinth of ciphers and mysteries Alex Hirsch has given us. This may be 4th place in America's best cartoon, but it will always be the best cartoon of the west. Honestly, I think people just need to open there eyes to how great this show is though, so, go binge watch it. That's all I'm gonna say.

Infinity/10 one of the best shows. I love the plot and I love mysteries in general. Top three favorite characters? I'd say Dipper Pines, Mabel Pines, and Bill Cipher. Thanks Alex for creating this! You rock, dude

Gravity Falls has some of the best mysteries hidden throughout the episodes, intriguing well written characters, beautifully done backgrounds and smooth animations and is overall one of the best cartoons I've ever seen.

10 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.

This show used to be Great. Until they added Poof. Then they became annoying characters. Then they keep on adding more Annoying characters and Chloe is the worst of them all! I hope it ends for good.

The Contenders
11 Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers
12 Batman: the Animated Series
