1) She was the first to win, so she was an inspiration for many Idols after her.
2) She is really likeble and humble.
3) She has won many awards and her songs are very popular.
4) Kelly is just Kelly. One of a kind. Her beauty is not maybe the "typical kind of beauty", but she is edgy.
5) Small town girl with big old dreams, that became a huge star.
6) In an interview of her, I heard that she is still watching American Idol. That's very important, it means that she cares about the next generation of singers.
7) Seems to be friendly with fans.
8) Remember her audition? Maybe the best in Idol history still today!
9) Incredible vocal range.

There have been many great women on American Idol and I am a fan of many on this list but Carrie truly is the best all around in my eyes (and ears). She has the best voice not only with her range but the quality of her tone with her chest voice and especially her head voice. She has won the most awards and is a country music legend in the making. She has sold the most albums domestically and has the number 1 country album for her debut Some Hearts for the first decade of the 21st Century as listed by Billboard. She has generated by far the most concert revenues. Having emerged on the music scene not that long ago she has already been hosting one of country music's biggest award shows for four years to great acclaim and popularity. She has ventured into acting. She has had her own Holiday special despite the fact that she has yet to release her own Christmas album.
