You must be trying to regurgitate the old quote: "singularly meaningless psychedelic non-sequitirs", which in reality applies to all rock lyrics save the loftiest of Dylan's, S&G's, and Lennon/McCartney's. True that they don't top the Lads, the Glimmer Twins, or Zep, but they beat all the American entries by a mile, and most of the pretenders to the throne like Tyler, Rose, etc are simply bad Jim Morrison imitators.

The majority of their activity took place in the 60's, but Jim Morrison died in July of 1971, making them easily the greatest American rock band of the 70's.
