Top Ten Animals that Get Way Too Much Hate

These overhated animals don't deserve the hate they get!

This list is a collaboration between me and LightningBlade
The Top Ten
1 Cat The cat (Felis catus) is a domestic species of small carnivorous mammal. ...read more.

The black cats and Persian cats are especially misunderstood. I cannot stand the hate, as cats (of any breed or color) can be as good and well trained as a dog or anything else.

Cats get too LITTLE hate. They are the most destructive invasive species on the planet.

People hate them because their not slaves of mankind like dogs.

2 Bat Bats are mammals of the order Chiroptera. With their forelimbs adapted as wings, they are the only mammals capable of true and sustained flight. Bats are more agile in flight than most birds, flying with their very long spread-out digits covered with a thin membrane or patagium. The smallest bat, and... read more

Bats are important for the ecosystem. If they go extinct, insects and spiders would overpopulate the world.

If it wasn't for them, then the planet would be swarmed with insects.

3 Fox Foxes are small to medium sized animals and belong to the Canidae family along with other animals such as jackals, wolves, and domestic dogs. There are 37 species of fox but only 12 are considered true Vulpes. A fox's prey is small mammals, birds, reptiles, frogs, eggs, insects, worms, fish, crabs, mollusks, fruits, berries, vegetables, seeds, fungi and carrion. Some of the best known species of fox are the fennec fox, red fox, gray fox, arctic fox, and the swift fox. Foxes are considered one of the most adaptable animals because it can live on almost every continent. Foxes range from all different colors and habitats. Foxes can be a deep red, a light tan, or white. If you are lucky enough you ...read more.

Poor foxes are often hated by chicken farmers/owners and objectified by the furry fandom. They deserve better than to be treated horribly like that.

4 Vulture

They are helpful scavengers, yet mistaken as mean animals by many who don't do their research on animals.

They eliminate diseases

5 Snake Snakes are elongated, limbless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes. Like all other squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Many species of snakes have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey ...read more.

Why is a cat higher than this?! Cats are so CUTE!

Snakes are very much hated at this point

6 Hyena Hyenas or hyaenas are any feliform carnivoran mammals of the family Hyaenidae /haɪˈɛnᵻdiː/. With only four extant species, it is the fifth-smallest biological family in the Carnivora, and one of the smallest in the class Mammalia.

It's the Lion King's fault that this animal suffered a bad reputation through it's awful characters. The animal does not deserve the role of henchmen or evil trio. Spotted hyenas live in clans, not in trios. TLK is a very bad movie and franchise that is a bad influence on peoples' perspectives on animals, thus the franchise deserves a boycott. Disrespect my opinion all you want but you'll never stop me from telling the truth.

They don't deserve their bad reputation, especially since many scientists have studied these animals and see them as who they really are.

7 Shark Sharks are a group of elasmobranch fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. Modern sharks are classified within the clade Selachimorpha (or Selachii) and are the sister group to the rays. However, the term "shark" has also been (incorrectly) used to refer to extinct members of the subclass Elasmobranchii, which are technically outside the Selachimorpha clade. Notable examples of improper classification include Cladoselache, and various other members of the Chondrichthyes class like the holocephalid eugenedontidans.

They are not that bad. If anything, you are more likely to get killed by cows, deer, washing machines, and even a toilet than by a shark, and seriously I'm not making this up.

We all know that if anyone had a shark coming at them they would be scared stiff

8 Spider

I'm sorry but after having a brown recluse drop off of the ceiling onto my face I will never see a spider and let it live unless it is outside my house

I totally love spiders. I don't like touching them but I think they're beautiful and very fascinating creatures to watch.

Since I know that there are less than 100 deadly spiders and most I see never bite, I like to keep 8 in my room

Not to mention that so many people are afraid of spiders when not all of them are dangerous...

9 Crows

Corvids get such a bad rap just because of their looks or something, when they're intelligent birds.

Hate all you want, but Crowy over here is probably smarter than whatever bag of fur your pet is...

10 Wasp

They won't bother you if you leave it alone

The Contenders
11 Coyote Coyotes are canines native to North and Central America. They are highly adaptable and can thrive in a variety of environments, from forests and grasslands to urban areas. Coyotes have a similar appearance to domestic dogs but are typically smaller in size, with a bushy tail, erect ears, and a pointed muzzle. They are opportunistic omnivores, feeding on a diverse diet that includes small mammals, birds, insects, and even plants. Known for their vocalizations, coyotes communicate using a range of howls, barks, and yips. They play a crucial role in ecosystems by controlling populations of rodents and other small animals.

Seen as vermin, pests, and killers of pets/livestocks when they are no different from wolves. Protect your pets, livestock, children and everyone else and you will be fine. Plus, a large, fierce and protective guard dog such as a rottweiler would probably tear a coyote apart into bits. Thus, coyotes aren't as bad or evil as most think and don't deserve their bad rap.

They always run away from me

12 Centipede Centipedes are arthropods belonging to the class Chilopoda of the subphylum Myriapoda. They are mainly carnivorous and they prey upon insects, spiders, small birds and rodents, and even other centipedes.

I totally can see why people hate these things. They are creepy, fast, multi-legged monsters that murder any bug in sight and can have quite painful bites. But past that is what I think is an interesting, unique, and badass arthropod. These are apex predators using their stealth and speed to catch a meal and with all those legs they are able to move like a cheetah and have powerful venom enough to kill any small animal. They are all varied from one another and each have their own unique look to them. I also think their faces are quite cute. Another thing, some species especially in the genus scolpendra can be very dedicated parents. After laying their eggs female centipede wrap their bodies around them and protect them from fungal growth and predators. They even keep watch of them after the pedelings have hatched. This is unlike any other parental involvement I have seen in the arthropod world and I find it very sweet that such a carnivorous beast can also be gentle caregivers. So in ...more

They're pretty cool. All you need to do is to stay out of their way and not touch one, and you will be fine.

13 Pig A pig is any of the animals in the genus Sus, within the Suidae family of even-toed ungulates. Pigs include the domestic pig and its ancestor, the common Eurasian wild boar, along with other species; related creatures outside the genus include the peccary, the babirusa, and the warthog.

Pigs are indeed quite overhated, specifically due to their bad reputation. They're stereotyped as filthy greedy unintelligent blobs that deserve to be eaten, but in reality, they are clean, and even more important, they're one of the most intelligent animals.

Yes! If it weren't for farm animals existing, then there would be no food.

14 Scorpion

That picture though...

15 Rat Rats are various medium-sized, long-tailed rodents of the superfamily Muroidea. "True rats" are members of the genus Rattus, the most important of which to humans are the black rat, Rattus rattus, and the brown rat, Rattus norvegicus.

Agreed so much. It was the fleas that caused the "plague", not rats. They are also capable of emotion.

One of the most loyal pets

16 Jackals The jackal is a small omnivorous mammal of the genus Canis, which also includes the wolf and dog. While the word "jackal" has historically been used for many small canids, in modern use it most commonly refers to three species: the closely related black-backed jackal and side-striped jackal of sub-Saharan Africa, and the golden jackal of south-central Eurasia.

Mistaken as cowards when they actually are brave when hunting their prey or scavenging a carcass.

They are immune to snake venom

17 Wolves The wolf (Canis lupus), also known as the gray or grey wolf, is a large canine native to Eurasia and North America. Over thirty subspecies of Canis lupus have been recognized, with gray wolves comprising the wild subspecies. As the largest extant member of the Canidae family, the wolf is distinguished... read more

People hate them for being a threat to livestock, portrayed as fairy tale antagonists all the time, or because they think they're "overrated". In reality, they are fascinating animals, and if it weren't for wolves, then the domestic dog would never existed. (dogs are domesticated descendants of the wolf, by the way)

18 Blobfish The blobfish is a deep sea fish of the family Psychrolutidae. It inhabits the deep waters off the coasts of mainland Australia and Tasmania, as well as the waters of New Zealand.
19 Mouse A mouse is a small rodent characteristically having a pointed snout, small rounded ears, a body-length scaly tail and a high breeding rate. The best known mouse species is the common house mouse. It is also a popular pet.
20 Bee
21 Praying Mantis The praying mantis is an insect known for its distinctive posture of holding its front legs in a manner that resembles a prayer. It belongs to the Mantidae family and is characterized by its elongated body, triangular head, and large compound eyes. Praying mantises are skilled predators, often waiting patiently for their prey to come within striking distance. They possess specialized front legs that are equipped with spines and sharp hooks to grasp and hold onto their prey securely. Praying mantises primarily feed on insects and occasionally small vertebrates. Their exceptional camouflage helps them blend into their surroundings, making them effective ambush predators.

Most peeps think insects are disgusting, but I don't. Some are dangerous than others but the same can be said for any animal; vertebrate and invertebrate. The praying mantis is an example of many cool bugs.

22 Giraffe
23 Skunks
24 Magpie

Often seen as thieves but they are smart birds

25 Rhinoceros A rhinoceros, commonly abbreviated to rhino, is a member of any of the five extant species (or numerous extinct species) of odd-toed ungulates in the family Rhinocerotidae. (It can also refer to a member of any of the extinct species of the superfamily Rhinocerotoidea.) Two of the extant species are native to Africa, and three to South and Southeast Asia. ...read more.

Rhinos are extremely underrated.
