Top 10 Animated Shows that are Basically a Worse Version of Another

This can include even worse versions of already bad shows (like Mega Babies to Brothers Grunt or Cow And Chicken to Ren & Stimpy) or just plain butchered versions of originally good ones (like Teen Titans GO to the real Teen Titans and Mega Babies to Rugrats), but for now, I would prefer to mainly stick to the proper definition of the list's title
The Top Ten
1 Spongebob Squarepants (Rocko's Modern Life)

Ah yes, classic "blatant, quite literally watered-down ripoff overshadowing the original because people have downright CRAPPIE taste in shows" syndrome (yes, I know it was made by basically the exact same people, not counting Joe Murray himself, but STILL)
Comparing most of the characters ALONE:
Rocko is more relatable than Spongebob by MILES
Heffer, while still amazingly stupid, is far smarter than Patrick at any rate
Filburt (compared mostly because he has the same voice actor) is funnier than Plankton
Dr. Paula Hutchison is considerably (even) sexier than Sandy (and actually DOES get married)
Spunky is both cuter and funnier than Gary by a pretty impressive stretch
The Bighead family makes up a grand total of THREE different variations of Squidward as opposed to one

That, and the show has a vastly more interesting art style, is written absurdly better, has a WAY better theme song (ESPECIALLY the B-52's version in my opinion), is just generally smarter ...more

I wouldn't really say it rips off Rocko's Modern Life. I'd say it's almost a successor to the show and while I stress I am not suggesting anything by saying this, Spongebob is actually a really good show.

2 Cow and Chicken (Ren and Stimpy)

And people seriously called ROCKO a R&S wannabe

(DISCLAIMER: John Kricfaluski, as much of a douche as he is, actually liked this a show a lot more than you'd think)

3 The Loud House (Rugrats) The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. The series revolves around the chaotic suburban everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters, to which he survives as the middle child and only son in a large family of eleven children. Originally set to premier on January 2016, the series instead premiered on May 2, 2016, with the episodes Left in the Dark and Get the Message.

Only difference is that the characters are older and the target audience is younger (starting to notice a bit of an awkward contradiction here? )

While I disagree with number 1, this I totally agree with, this is one of the worst shows of all time

4 Mega Babies (The Brothers Grunt)

Yes, you heard me; there is actually an even WORSE cartoon out there than TBG

5 Family Guy (The Simpsons) Family Guy is an American adult animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter (Fat, Idiotic Dad) and Lois (Nagging Bitchy Wife), their children Meg (Socially Awkward Daughter) Chris (Fat, Idiotic Son), and Stewie (Sociopathic and Genuine Infant); and lastly Brian (Anthromorphic Pet Dog). The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of cutaway gags that often American culture. ...read more.

At least this show openly admits to being a knock-off, but that still doesn't excuse its lame and shallow characters, stupid cutaway gags, brain-dead lowest-common-denominator excuses for satire, incredibly racist Cleveland Show spinoff, etc

6 Drawn Together (South Park) Drawn Together is an American adult animated sitcom which ran on Comedy Central from October 27, 2004 to November 14, 2007. The series was created by Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein, and uses a sitcom format with a TV reality show setting.

WARNING: Stay far away from this show if you don't like mean-spirited humor

7 Futurama (Classic Simpsons)

WAS a pretty great show, actually, but putting it on THAT level is just ridiculous

8 Naruto (Dragon Ball Z)

And once again, there is SUCH better anime out there

9 Aaahh!!! Real Monsters (Invader Zim)

I was going to say Ren & Stimpy, but this show's premise is actually a lot more reminiscent of Zim

10 Puella Magi Madoka Magica (HeartCatch PreCure) Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a 2011 Japanese anime television series produced by Shaft and Aniplex, directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, written by Gen Urobuchi, music by Yuki Kajiura, opening sang by ClariS, ending by Kalafina (sometimes by the seiyuus) and original characters by Ume Aoki.

11 The Amazing World of Gumball (Courage The Cowardly Dog)

"Borrowed" the insanely bizarre art style, the postmodernist humor, the beyond-surreal character cast...

pretty much the one thing it COULDN'T "borrow", so to speak, was the balls

13 Neon Genesis Evangelion (Mobile Suit Gundam)
14 Dog Days (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha)
