This is a revolutionary tale that stretches the boundaries of love making people think about concepts such as age differences and homosexuality. If you do not watch it, you are stupid as Boku no Pico is truly a masterpiece and will open your mind.

Made me and my whole family cry. A must watch.

This show well and truly changed my life. A must watch for all ages.

If you were to see me on the street, you would probably think that there is no way this guy watches any animes. They, however, are wrong. Many people may be inclined to say that animes are childish and made for little kids. However, Boku no Pico is so much more than that. It is a beautiful and heartwarming story about true love. This is something we can all relate to because our society today finds these relationships wrong and this anime helped me realize how true love should always be expressed. I was shocked to find how much I learned about being in love while watching. It is true that Boku no Pico has perhaps average art and animation but the true gem in this show is the message and the story. The message that no one should stop themselves from loving another, even if that person is of the same sex. It is truly a wonderful show and I recommend watching it with your friends, colleagues or family. 10/10 THANK YOU PICO

Boku No Pico is quite truly the pinnacle of Japanese Animation.
After watching quite a few drama and "deep" anime series, I thought it was quite experienced in the field of deep anime, but nothing could of prepared my for this.
The story follows our hero, Tamotsu and his un-flawed, pure relationship with the androgynous boy "Pico".

By the time I had finished the series, I was in tears, my mind was all over the place and I was truly doubting my own existence. The love in this series was so pure, it made me doubt if I had ever even felt love at all.
I doubt any anime I ever watch in my life will ever be able to compare.
Please, if you are feel like killing yourself or are just generally unhappy with your life, watch this anime. It's truly life changing.
I doubt any anime I ever watch in my life will ever be able to compare.

I don't see why this anime is not at the near top. The caliber and scope of the show is captivating and engaging that should be at the top 20, it needs more recognition!

Have you ever experienced a love so pure, you're not sure if you've ever loved at all?

That my friend, is what this riveting story is about.

Gripping plot, lovable characters, much boners

Brilliant characterization, just enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat without becoming tedious, and an actually satisfying plot. I can't really think of any complaints. Most people haven't heard of it, though, because it was done as an artistic project instead of a cash cow to be milked, like most other animes.

Groundbreaking in all the right ways, Boku no Pico revolutionised the field and is a true anime for the ages.

Why is this not more at the top?!? This moved me emotionally and it should too for others!

Seeing BnP this low hurt me, the emotional rollercoaster I experienced was like no other. Only few anime come close to this piece of art.

The greatest love story I have seen animated, on par with Clannad!

Quite possibly the greatest love story ever told. I didn't even know a series could make me feel things Boku no Pico made me feel before watching it. Full of joy, anxiety, uncertainty and the eventual fulfillment that nearly made me tear up. And the best thing was the surprise about the number of the episodes, which quite frankly made me go, "Yo, there's THREE of them! "

The absolute most inspiring anime I've had the pleasure of viewing. Truly a modern masterpiece. The love, the action, the mystery, the drama- I don't say this about many things, but Boku no Pico rivals Shakespeare in terms of complex characters. No one can call themselves a true anime fan without having seen this first.

Boku no Pico is a touching story of the adventures the cast goes through. Although I love Naruto, I place Boku no Pico first on my list because the characters hit so much closer to home.

The most heart warming love story ever told. The story was flawless, the art even better. It is the only anime to bring me to tears of joy every single time I watch it. Boku no Pico is a masterpiece of masterpieces. If you haven't watched this anime before you should watch it right now and for the rest of your life.

Good, wholesome, family fun. I can say without a doubt that this heartwarming tale is better than any Disney movie. One of my favorites, it's a must watch for the whole family. 10/10.

Really good show, one of the best animes I have seen in my life. personal top 10 for me

Literally the best anime Japan has to offer, right up there with FMA:B as my all time faves!

Ok, I have to start by saying that Boku no Pico made me cry. The story is so sad, but it is also such a beautiful story. By far the best romance I have ever seen. This is definitely a must watch for any anime fan out there.

Very awesome anime! Needs more recognition

Boku no Pico, a four-episode OVA produced by the relatively unknown studio Natural High marks an ambitious milestone in anime history, standing in stark contrast to its more derivative shonen and moe peers in the 2000s. Unfortunately, its unexpectedly poor commercial performance limited its exposure and appeal to a more widespread audience, and thus is only appreciated by a comparatively small yet devoted fan-base.

Director Katsuyoshi Yatabe, a veteran director well-known for his impressive work on titles from the revered Yoshiyuki Tomino's "Gundam" series, Tomino's infamous "Space Runaway Ideon", and even more recent masterpieces like "Gundam SEED" and its "Destiny" sequels are exemplary of Yatabe's fantastic directorial pedigree in Boku no Pico--even if the OVA series' budget wasn't quite as sizable as Yatabe's older, Sunrise-produced mecha series. Instead, the subject matter is closer, more personal and develops beautifully over the course of its narrative, and the budding ...more

One of the most moving and heartwarming drama/romances of all anime to date. Never have I seen such masterful storytelling and animation used to convey such a touching experience everyone can relate to. Everyone I know that's seen it abosolutely adores this masterpiece. It is a must watch as it has set the bar for future anime... A bar so high, few will reach...

I must say, when my wife brought home this animation on DVD, I was skeptical to say the least. We are a good Christian family and I in our local Christian community, this "anime" phenomenon has quite a bad reputation. My wife, however, claimed that it had been recommended to her by a trustworthy friend of hers and my kids seemed so excited about it, so I decided to give it a chance, although I expected the worst.

Needless to say, this masterpiece completely blew away all my doubts. It is a universal tale of love, a timeless coming-of-age tale and I whole-heartedly regret my initial scepticism. Last week, we had a screening of the film at our local church and everyone agreed that this was movie was an amazing experience.

I've yet to meet a person who wasn't touched deeply by this anime.
