Top 10 Annoying Things About Making Metal Lists

The Top Ten
1 Elitists

I totally agree metal elitists are annoying but the word "elitist" is often used in a wrong way - many fans use the word "elitist" when they disagree with an opinion.

About Limp Bizkit: Encyclopaedia Metallum is widely considered as the best, biggest and most correct source of metal information but they don't have articles / info about nu metal bands. Why do you think Search results for "Limp Bizkit" look like this: "No matches found. Please try with different search terms." But Encyclopaedia Metallum has info about metal bands with only 1 album.

'Limp Bizkit never played Metal.'

2 Adding rock bands

This is really annoying - Led Zeppelin, their members and their songs in the top 10 on many metal lists... Also Kurt Cobain, Bon Scott, etc. the best metal singers...

I am disgusted when I see Rock bands voted in metal lists

5 Almost all topics are already gone

That's why I have to think...a lot

6 Visitors who down/up vote

Most of the time it's good but when Metallica is labeled as the best Death Metalband...

7 Wrong information in the comments

'Slayer played Grindcore...'

8 Metallica Metallica is an American Heavy/Thrash Metal band formed in 1981. The original lineup was James Hetfield (Vocalist and Rhythm guitarist), Dave Mustaine (Lead Guitar), Lars Ulrich (Drums), Ron McGovney (Bassist). The group came into mainstream from their Self-Titled album and the hit single "Enter Sandman".

With their first two albums, Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning reaching underground success, their third effort, Master of Puppets has since become one of the most important heavy metal albums ever, as it became the first thrash metal album to be certified platinum. The title track has since become the band's most played song live. ...read more.
9 Nu metal is not metal

Facts to think about: Encyclopaedia Metallum don't have articles / info about nu metal bands. They have info about all metal bands under the sun, even with only one EP but if you search "Slipknot" you will see this: "Slipknot were from New Haven, Connecticut. Stiemy (bass/vocals) was previously the singer in Fatal Vision...", and so on. And there's a sentence:"Not to be confused with the nu-metal/modern rock band Slipknot from Des Moines, Iowa."

It's not that I ignorantly think nu metal is not metal, but because it really isn't. I heard it's actually supposed to be a genre of hard rock or something.

When Nu Metal is not Metal then Power Metal, Heavy Metal or Groove Metal aren't as well.
