Top 10 Most Annoying Things About Super Smash Bros Melee

Super Smash Bros Melee is an amazing game but even a great game like this is not without its minor annoyances.

The Top Ten Most Annoying Things About Super Smash Bros Melee

1 Icicle Mountain being a scrolling stage

This is by far the worst stage on the game as it started the trend of moving stages in later games, this stage is completely unplayable as you will spent more time trying to avoid dying then actually fighting and Pikachu's thunder attack is completely useless. - egnomac

2 The "Time for a Check up" event battle being brutally difficult

Seriously what is up with this event battle both Dr. Mario and Peach are too aggressive and can easily know you out within seconds of the fight winning this event is almost entirely on luck as you almost have to wait until the computer screws up to give you a chance. - egnomac

Luigi is one of my mains, but the event is still hard. I can't even land a move in. - Azurin13

They think melee is the best one, when it's not

I stuck on this event it hard - trains45

3 The Hammer item randomly breaks off

To balance out the over powered Hammer item Nintendo decided to make it so the Hammer breaks off at random leaving you completely vulnerable to enemy attack. - egnomac

4 Mewtwo being the hardest character to unlock

This took me awhile to unlock I did super sudden death with 1 life took me probably 2 hours to unlock him after getting 700 melee matches - trains45

Though more time consuming than difficult you either have to play 20 hours of melee vs mode or the only way I was able to unlock him is to play 800 vs mode matches. - egnomac

5 Clone characters

Dr. Mario, Ganondorf, Pichu, Falco, Roy and Young Link, basically play the same as the other characters only with few changes. - egnomac

6 The Adventure mode becomes repetitive

The adventure mode was a nice touch to the game but it gets really repetitive having to play through the same adventure mode with every character. - egnomac

7 Needing to get the Birdo Trophy to unlock the Mushroom Kingdom II Stage

I haven't unlocked it yet - trains45

Its completely luck based getting the Birdo trophy to unlock the Mushroom Kingdom II stage which begs the question why would they have players have to earn a specific trophy which is completely random to get just to unlock the stage and another thing the stage is not from the Mushroom Kingdom but the Subcon stage from SMB2. - egnomac

8 Having to Complete the 15 Minute Man Melee to Unlock the Kong Jungle Stage

Tough its much easier to do it with Donkey Kong and do the hand slam attack at the bottom knocking out the other characters until the game decides to be a douche and put a bomb where you are. - egnomac

Oh I don't know about that, but I do hope there's no Bomb-oms lying around. - GehennaTheSecond

9 Losing the other Ice Climber cripples you

The Ice Climber characters are a tricky bunch to play as and losing the other Ice Climber character prevents you from using the belay attack to save yourself if you get knocked too far away from the stage and some of your moves become less effective since you don't have the other one to help you. - egnomac

10 Jiggly Puff and Luigi not being playable from the start

Count your blessings. Ultimate was much worse about this.

Oh well. :/ - GehennaTheSecond

Whats up with this both Ness and Captain Falcon who were secret characters from the first Smash Bros game are playable from the start yet both Luigi and Jigglypuff have to be unlocked. - egnomac

The Contenders

11 The speed

What's a Fight Scene that only lasts about 2 minutes?

It feels a bit too fast for a fighting game for me. - PerfectImpulseX
