Top Ten Most Anticipated Horror Movies of 2018

2017 was a terrific year for horror movie fans. Perhaps 2018 will continue the trend. This list compiles the horror films slated to be released in 2018 that we are most looking forward to.
The Top Ten
1 Halloween (2018)

'The Shape' is back! Jamie Lee Curtis is back! Her long hair is back! Is anything missing? Yes. The continuity baggage left over from every movie from 'Halloween II' onward. That's right. Of all the 'Halloween' sequels, 'Halloween II' is, for the first time in the series, being retconned from the timeline. This new film will be a direct sequel to the original 1978 film and will not have anything to do with any of the previous sequel instalments. I'm excited.

I'm so hyped for this

Myers is back!

2 The Predator

Shane Black played the supporting role of 'Rick Hawkins' in the original 1987 'Predator' film. This time he's co-writing and directing the newest instalment. This guy knows action films so everyone should be as pumped as I am. I can't imagine him dispassionately making a 'Predator' film (or any film).

3 Slender Man

It may be a bit late on capitalizing on the craze, and is being labelled as insensitive following a certain Slender-related attempted murder incident I'm sure you've heard about from a number of years back. Only time will tell if this film was made as a delayed-reacting cash grab or a worthwhile horror experience.

Disappointing.

4 The Nun

The 'Conjuring Universe' is ever-expanding and we've been given two glimpses of what's to come now with this film (in 'The Conjuring 2' and 'Annabelle: Creation', respectively). I have high hopes that this will be a big hit.

The Conjuring Universe is dumb. Are they going to make "Dominique" into a creepy song?

Gave me nightmares.

5 The Cloverfield Paradox

The title for this film keeps jumping around so there isn't an official name to give it as of the time of this posting. It was made under the working title 'God Particle' and has been unofficially named 'Cloverfield Station' by some. Whatever it's name ends up being I just hope it gets a theatrical release because Netflix is actively pursuing the releasing rights to the film as I type.

6 The Strangers: Prey at Night

This sequel to 2008's 'The Strangers' sure took it's time getting here, didn't it? Let's hope it was worth the wait.

Death awaits.

7 Insidious: The Last Key

Technically, at the time of this list being submitted, this movie was already released. That doesn't mean it wasn't, still, an anticipated project. I know I definitely wanted to see it.

8 Winchester

"The House that Ghosts Built" was something I knew a lot about as a kid. I remember watching an episode of 'Popular Mechanics for Kids' and was instantly smitten with this place. I hope the movie (which was filmed in the actual house-turned-museum) makes proper use of it's incredibly unique setting.

9 Annihilation

The writer-director of 'Ex_Machina' has a new project. That's all I need to know to be excited. The fact that it stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Oscar Issac doesn't hurt.

10 A Quiet Place

Real-life husband and wife, John Kraskinski and Emily Blunt star in this interesting film (co-written and directed by Krasinski, I might add) where silence is the key to survival. This premise sounds too perfect for a horror film, doesn't it?

Best horror movie I have ever seen. The atmosphere was scary, the acting was great, the scenes were intense, and remember, a father does his duty.

And it turned out to be fantastic.

The Contenders
11 Hereditary

That movie gave me chills...
