Artists That Hated Their Own Popular Songs
Sometimes, artists aren’t so happy with the results of a song. It’s pretty interesting because most of these songs were big hits. Here are ten songs that were hated by they’re artist.I agree with this. I remember Court once said in the interview that he was surprised how popular it become.
Even I don't like this song. Too generic and boring - TheDarkOne_221b
I don't blame Led Zeppelin for hating this. Stairway to Heaven is a drawn out, boring song that has rambling lyrics that are about nothing.
Fun fact: Robert Plant paid a radio station $10,000 to never play this song again.
Interesting. Isn't it the most praised song ever though?
Who honestly cares about Britpop anyways? Nobody says it had a major impact on music, and they are right. Only Oasis, Blur and the Verve had a hit in the US and worldwide. Absolutely none of these bands with the exception of those three I just mentioned (even though the Verve are one-hit wonders) were popular worldwide. Britpop never stood a chance against grunge. It was basically Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots against Oasis and Blur (no Verve because, like I said, one-hit wonders, so they don't qualify).
Well this is the worst song of 1990s so yeah I agree with Liam even though his vocals are one of main reasons this song is a trainwreck.
Is Oasis really known for anything else?
I actually liked that song.
Slash hates the opening and characteristic riff.
Oh, yeah. I've read this before. Lol
I think RJD mellowed his attitude later in life out of respect for fans (and he was apparently great to his fans), but rumour has it he originally wanted to destroy the recording of it. Shame, 'because it's a great song.
Don't know why dio doesn't wanted this song to be on the album.
Fun fact: Tyler once changed the lyrics in a performance:
"I wish I wrote a different song no one's ever heard
I wish my mom would just admit she's sick of every word
Overplayed, overstayed, it was a smash hit
Funny how overplayed songs sound like crap
I was told our true fans don't like this song
But I hope they sing along. I hope they sing along"
They still like the song, but Tyler has admitted in a concert that they thought the song overstayed it's welcome.
It's true that this song is hated by queen, though I can't understand why. Who else has written a song about battling an ogre?
Why did they hate it?
I love that song
He refuses to perform this song ever again. In fact, he hasn't performed it in 13 years. He was once noticeably upset for winning an award for this song and even made the statement in his acceptance speech that's he wanted to win the award for another song of his. "My Love"
nicki recently said she regrets making that song
Gene Simmons hates it.
She HATES performing this! I think I agree with her in a way...
