Top Ten Artists Who Will Restore Your Faith In Modern MusicPetSounds Lately, I've seen comments on this site and others stating that today's music is not worth listening to. Here are ten music artists of the 21st century who can pull their weight with the all-time greats. Ladies and gentlemen…
The Top Ten
Jackie definitely restored my faith in modern music.
For years I didn't bother with music, it had become self serving and shallow.
When I came across Jackie's singing, it was like rediscovering what music had meant to me earlier.
Jackie has brought new meaning to beautiful music.
Jackie is the music story of the 21st century! - BobG
I'm listening to old music ( 50's,60's and 70's ) because they had better artists and better music than today's modern music and Jackie Evancho doesn't restore my faith in modern music ( okay, she's better than Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus etc... but she's certainly not better than artists of the 50's, 60's and 70's in music styles, attitudes and singing ). In other words plain and simple, I don't listen to modern music and Jackie Evancho isn't the artist who is convincing me or restore my faith for that.10 Comments
After reading this list, I told myself "There's actually good music in this generation? What is wrong with this world?! We get all the lousy artists like Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj but not all of these people on this list? I mean why would you do this? Why bury The gem and dig up the turd? These are the kind of artists kids and grown ups have been searching forever. Kids and grown ups who have went on to live horrible lives. Kicking people in the balls."
This is a great list for everyone. Especially the mainstream crowd. I mean, come on people. We're missing out on some of the greatest artists ever. At least give them a shot.
He totally deserves a spot in top 5. But still I like Jackie Evancho more. - divphygamer
A genius in the field of electronic music. - PetSounds
I'm glad you put him on this list, PetSounds. I could not agree more with you; his music is melodious, thought-provoking and, unlike most music artists, still as strong as it was when he began, as he hasn't lost this motivation to work hard. - PositronWildhawk3 Comments
It's not all bad. Tame Impala is literally the modern day Pink Floyd meets The Beatles. Listen to Lonerism. It's one of the best albums of all time. - shadomatrix
Thank goodness we have Tame Impala. They sound like they are out of the early 70s. Go check them out if you like the Beatles or Pink Floyd.
Deadmau5 isn't going to restore faith in modern music. Tame impala takes sounds from the past and throws them into the future. They will restore faith in humanity as well - Miko0031
Fans of the Beatles need to check out this Australian band's 2012 album Lonerism, particularly the single "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards". - PetSounds7 Comments
Yes. - CedreticFomento
Nobody knows who they are! If Americans would actually listen and give them a change, we would be hearing much better music more often. But yeah, their Very good! - Slipperyjack40
Their music restored my faith in humanity.
Massive attack are pretty good - jmepa123
I'm waiting for an actual album to see if he still holds up. I love just about every album by him. W:/2016album/ was a pretty big let down. I've heard his stuff from the two Mau5vile do Eps, it was pretty good. Also Polaris is one of his best tracks. Hopefully though, we will get something equivalent to Album Title goes Here, or Random Album Title in the next year or so. - Slipperyjack40
I love this guy. I Remember when I first listened to him. I loved Ghosts n Stuff, Alone with You. Lack of a Better Name, I love it all!
One of my favorite DJs. he will always restore my faith in modern music. His song Polaris is probably the best song of 2017. - PhoenixAura81
Its Amazing No humanoid can ever say no to it
Metal is never old. They define how metal can be still so goodm
I like A7X, but their newer stuff isn’t the best. I prefer their older stuff - KingSlayer93316
I’m pretty sure the rev is the best drummer of the 21st century so far that I’ve heard
If Tame Impala are the Beatles of the 21st century, Animal Collective are the Beach Boys. Their album Merriweather Post Pavilion is a must-hear. - PetSounds
Green Day is the best band of today - Martinglez
Dos and Tres sucked, they used to be good but they've hit a wall
My favourite is she - jmepa123
I strongly disagree with Dos and Tré being bad. Though they don't consist of 'genius' talent, I still really like Green Day and enjoy covering their music. - Beatlesboy9
I swear these guys are 1,000 times better than the modern poop and crap (whoops, I mean pop and rap) played on the radio. They saved my life. They got me through the worst moments in my life. They're unlike any band I have ever heard and they're definitely worth checking out, especially if you're going through a hard time in your life right now.
They are the cleanest, most flawless band I have ever seen. Their music really has saved my life. I highly recommend them to anyone who is going though a hard time right now.
They always get me through the hard times. They cheer me up. I'm more than happy this band is here! It's my favorite! - Eternal_Laughter
Everyone should know about them. They have some of the best written music in years. You really feel the emotion and power through the songs.6 Comments
I kinda like them. I'm not very familiar with them though. Just the mainstream stuff. - Slipperyjack40
Coldplay is the best band ever. +10 points for being British. I love Swallowed in the Sea and Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground. They are probably the best two songs by Coldplay, but I can't really choose. - Merilille
Don't like 'em much. - IronSabbathPriest
Sorry, but no they don't click me in anyway. - htoutlaws20121 Comment
Green Day may have restored my beginning faith in music, but Blink-182 has completed my faith in music, especially Tom DeLonge, who always makes good music. I was looking for a good band that would help me get into rock music, and this is the band I looked for.
I really love this list. PetSounds and PositronWildhawk introduced me to Electus and Electus has went on to be one of my favorite artists of all time. Seriously. Check this person out. It's worth it. Trust me.
The modern-day Grateful Dead that released five albums in one year should be in the top ten. Listen to their 14 (soon to be 15) studio albums and you'll be amazed about how many genres and concepts they've covered in less than 10 years. Their next album, Infest the Rats' Nest, will be Thrash Metal, just like Metallica and Slayer did in the 80s. - shadomatrix
Indie folk with some psychedelic influences and ethereal harmonies. - PetSounds
Slipknot did get me into metal, but I wouldn’t consider them “modern” since they came out of the 90’s. And I don’t know if they still make music today (tell me if they did make new music) - KingSlayer93316
One of the best current rock bands today. Their songs carry so much meaning, and they are catchy. Also, Skillet is one of the best bands to see live. Their shows can be amazing! - Alpha101
This band saved my life. If you're going through hard times in your life, check them out. They're worth it.
If you're going through a rough time right now, listen to their song It's Not Me, It's You.
Awesome band with a lot of meaning behind the lyrics
Ugh, made me lose my faith. All flash, lights, choreography, and pulchritude.
How the hell is she on the list of, "will regain my faith in modern music"?! If anything her music makes me lose more faithin music today!
Beyonce's song called Ape S*** is not really a good song to be honest!
An excellent psychedelic group with folk influences and hints of Pink Floyd. Try their album Yellow House. - PetSounds
Amy, Will, mostly Will, his guitar skills are amazing, Amy and her vocals, Tim you are amazing. The drummer, amazing drumming. I may have forgot your name, but I never forget, as it's the first time, but you all are amazing.
Just quickly, for those who don't know (looking at other comment) the current members are; Amy (vocals), Jen (lead guitar), Troy (rhythm guitar), Tim (bass), and Will (drums).
Please put this to number 1
Has anyone even heard evanescence in the last ten years? Exactly - Miko0031
How to be Greta Van Fleet :
Step 1 : Be Led Zeppelin - JoLeKosovo
Greatest metal band of all time! - slipperyjack30
To Pimp a Butterfly is probably one of the greatest album of this decade. He's a great lyricist with very experimental instrumentation. To Pimp a Butterfly's concept is very intelligent and enlightening. Also, he has a great flow in general. - JoLeKosovo
Only his lyrics are good. Otherwise, he would be average computerized rap.
Is there a Lamar song that has real instruments? - I80
The vast majority of them. All songs on To Pimp a Butterfly, except of maybe one or two, have brass and string instruments (and piano). - JoLeKosovo
Why is Green Day above them? I don't hate them, but they are hardly modern
He puts out some of the most thoughtful records for a mainstream rapper, "sing about me" "maad city" etc. His lyricism is on another level, his musical talent is great, while I do believe modern music is great, if it needed someone to help it back up, Kendrick would single handle that1 Comment
It's too bad people don't really talk about them anymore. They were really good.
Need I say more? - NoodleRidley
New album soon, so excited to see what Damon Albarn does with it after Blur's new album
One of the ONLY modern bands I like on this list. At least Dan Reynolds can sing - KingSlayer93316
I love these guys! I never knew there was such a thing as a good Moddern rock band. They are now my new favorite band. If you want good rock music, listen to Arctic Monkeys. Now, I need to find something American that I like. - Slipperyjack40
They have so much talent, unlike other modern british bands, like! D
I wish they would play live again... Dystopia was a damn good album. Not sure about Plagues of Babylon, but that was okay. - IronSabbathPriest
I recommend you check out their old stuff first. Along with all these artists on this list because checking out their first albums first will give you a more better understanding of them.
Glad to see them high on the list. Seriously check them out. They are an amazing band.
One of the best industrial bands of all time.
Been around since the 90's, but they still kick ass.
She's the queen of Pop Rock and a generation defining musician
The modern day Beatles.
Their lone album, Sun Sketches, is reminiscent of mid-1960s rock and roll. "Shelter Song", in particular, reminds me of the Byrds. - PetSounds
I hate rap but I love Linkin Park. It certainty not the same kind of rock as that of the 70s, but it is a good difference. They're lyrics are very deep and meaningful, and the music part is even better! - slipperyjack30
Pretty much everything post Meteora isn't that great for me. - IronSabbathPriest
To be fair, they have been the most creative overall band since 2000. Not necessarily the greatest, but definitely the most creative. - Kiteretsunu
I don't know about that, Kiteretsunu. Have you heard any AnCo albums? I'd say they've been a lot more innovative, though in different ways. - PetSounds1 Comment
They were already famous before 2013
I'm talking about Daft Punk before they got famous in 2013.
I still think their new stuff is way better than anything today. - Slipperyjack40
