Top Ten Asian Countries to Live In

The Top Ten
1 Japan Japan is an island country in East Asia in the Pacific Ocean. It lies off the eastern coast of the Asia Mainland (east of China, Korea, Russia) and stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and near Taiwan in the southwest.

I've lived in four of these countries/territories (S. Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and China) and traveled extensively through many of the others (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Turkey, Israel, UAE, Qatar), and I can easily say that Japan is the best of the lot. It's like S. Korea with better manners, greater regard for the environment, cleaner streets, where everything operates as it should, greater cultural diversity and greater connection to the domestic culture, and greater variety in terms of cities, regions, and geography/climate. Hong Kong is nice, but small and limited. China is hell.

Absolutely Japan is the most and only safe country in Asia... even though city or provincial cities, rural area etc... wherever you may go, you'll realize that people are so kind and polite... practically, Japan has been selflessly supporting other nations throughout the world... although, Japan was defeated country of the WWII, I think the reason why Japan achieved the great position in these past 70years is the charity spirit of the Japanese... they really have a spirit to help others and they aren't a race to seek such return... so I see that there's no much difference between wealthy and poor in Japan not like the other countries in Asia

2 South Korea South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korean Peninsula and sharing a land border with North Korea. There is nothing great about South Korea and they do have a high crime rate just like any other country, dumb ass person who wrote that. You can even look up all the crimes that have occurred in Korea/Asia/Japan etc. And Korea doesn't have amazing food, no country does. Dumb asses who listed a bunch of fake stereotypes. And more people from Korea/Asia etc. are immigrating from their country to the U.S. because the U.S. has more technology than Korea/Asia etc. and better food places and more safer in the U.S. than Korea!

Low crime rates, great weather (four seasons), various activities to try out, beautiful mountains and scenery, great public transportations, delicious food, comfortable homes, outstanding economy, crazy nightlife, has the one of the best amusement parks, Korean people have "정" (jeong) which is a human nature for compassion and sentiment to fellow being.

One of the safest and most exciting places to live in!

This has got to be the best country in Asia right now when it comes to finding happiness and potential. The future if the Philippines looks very bright. These past 5 years have been looking pretty good lately for the Philippines as believe it or not the quality of life here continues to improve step by step. The country is still developing. It really is a true democracy. There are a lot of really good people here. The food is outstanding. Cost of living is very low. Excellent place if you like beaches, boating, mountains, greenery, tropical fruit and the world's largest shopping malls in the mix.

Woah, shocked to see that our country is ranked as no. 2 but IN MY OPINION, I think that South Korea should be next to Japan. But I think that we still deserve this. First of all it is already proven that PH is one of the best country to live in Asia because of the number of foreigners living here. The English education is one of best of the best, in fact most of the students from other countries transferred here to study English. The people here are very nice and cheerful. Filipinos are friendly, many foreigners that chose to live here said that this is one the reason why they chose our country. Beautiful sceneries are everywhere. Don't forget the food and service.

Thailand should be the best, people are friendly, and their hospitality is superb and no any ASEAN countries can compete with them. They don't have Abu Shaffah terrorist to terrorize their country, a country that practices values, merits of kindness. It may not be perfect as what we see in red light district, but the countryside, the people are very helpful. I have been to Thailand many times, even with difficulty of communication, the people, E.G. Drivers of coach buses are ver helpful indeed. On top that the honesty level can be applauded. So Thailand should the top 5 in Asian countries.

Thailand should be in the top 10, it has an amazing culture and beautiful and nice people, the Philippines is not really clean, the air and water is polluted and its culture is heavily westernized just like South korea, while Thailand isn't. (from my 3 years of living there)

Thailand should be higher on the list. It's a country with a rich history and culture, friendly people, cheap cost of living & wonderful food. Thailand has lost a little of its shine in recent years but still deserves a higher rating.

India needs massive improvement in the mindset of its 90% of its people and leaders. Too high levels of corruption, most polluted cities and rivers, terrible traffic in all cities, high levels of crime, highest poverty levels in the world, highest disparity between rich and poor.
India needs to get out of the trap of religion, caste, languages and false culture that imposes too many artificial values and unreal restrictions on its ordinary people whereas the leaders of this country use the same for manipulating the ordinary people. It has great potential but a lot of work needs to be done if it wants to be somewhere in the top countries of Asia.

India is a lot about Humanity. Today there is no one who doesn't know about India.
What India Hasn't done.. ?
It has established itself in the Field of Sports Science Technology GDP, Finance and what not.
We Indians know that after doing Educafion, MNCs Like Google Microsoft etc. Hire our Highly Educated Working Class, and thus they have to move to foreign.
A large Proporion of Scientists in NASA, XEROX, IBM are Indians. (If you Don't believe you can search it. )
That's why in our Country Poverth is Prevailing.
All our Educated and skilled youths reside in USA and UK and Earn for them and thus we are lef with a major Proportion of Beggars in our Country.
If our Youths stay in our own country and don't move to USA (I can Boldly say USA... ! ) then I guarantee that India will always top the List.
Long Live India.

I chose to work in Singapore because it is safe, has good food, a beautiful green landscape and I find the locals friendly. Also you can fly to most locations around the world from Changi Airport and two of the best low cost carriers are based here so flying and exploring the region is affordable. It is also a peace loving country - the Switzerland of the East. So it is unlikely to end up involved in any wars in the near future. Best country in Asia!

I have travelled all over the world for business. In Asia I ranked Singapore ss number one not only because English is the spoken language as compared to other Asian countries - I have no worries to set up a family here being the excellent education system, low crimes rates, very well maintained public transport, all year round great weather and I don't have to worry about my kids coming home late without getting mug kidnap or rape. The government has put in very well structured development plans for the infrastructure as well as its people. And I am seeing more plans for the expats to integrate more with the local community. Yes Singapore is excellent in every way and I can only see the country getting better and better. Yes Singapore is the place to be.

One of the worst countries in the world. Too much discrimination. Natives think they're god. No exaggeration. Once all oil is gone, this country will be left with lots of mindless people. Shouldn't be on the map. Worthless crap. No offense, just my opinion and experience.

The UAE is the place where people are happy and satisfied living there and provided with all healthcare treatment, sport clubs, adorable natural features, amusement places and have the wonders of the world. Really the best place to live where you have all the comforts.

I used to live uae for 3 years, not locals! europians thinking they are god! This place even not a country, just british colonial! Discrimination against to Indian, philippine, Pakistani, Egyptian and Iraqian people so high! Even your salary depending on your nationality, europian bosses (specially British/French) pay only half salary for those people!

It's known for its beaches, rain forests and mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European influences. The sprawling capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts such as Bukit Bintang and skyscrapers including the iconic, 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers.

Malaysia will soon be a developed country which means more expats will come. And many cities in Malaysia are getting prepared for this big change. There will be many buildings under construction and better traffic system by building the Mr. which will be fully completed before 2018. Kuala Lumpur is modern and as well very historical. So this is where you adventure will start to Malacca, known for its old Portuguese forts and museums, to Penang Island, a multicultural food paradise. At the Eastern part of Malaysia, you will be able to find Kota Kinabalu's sunny and beautiful beaches. But in the island of Langkawi, it is specifically known for its top honeymoon destination. Malaysia is one very adventurous country.

I am from Malaysia and I have travel around Asia. I realise how grateful for me to born in Malaysia. Not any place on earth can replace Malaysia. We love Taiwan because it offers us, retirees, some of the best medical and healthcare we have found! You can just go online and book your appointment with a doctor of your choice and voila, it immediately gives you a confirmation. Most of the physicians speak English so that makes quite convenient. We love the weather and of course, the tropical fruits are so plenty to choose from. The cost of living is extremely low if you use your US pension/retirement funds to live on. We always feel quite safe wherever we go. We have lived here for over three years now and will continue to rent here, very reasonable than back home. Within one hours' drive you will be on the high mountains for some fresh air and some hiking. What else can you ask for? We just love it here!

Taiwan is small and the people are friendly and have smiles on their faces all the time even when they are busy and is extremely healthy and comfortable to see when you are just about to go out to work. There is absolutely no need to cook food at home because the foods are cheap outside and are heavenly delicious! Also in the morning, if you live close to a hill/mountain, you can walk up to the top and see the beautiful view just before the day starts and relax your feelings and settle your mind down, good for physical and emotional health. Crime rate is low and is very safe and relaxing to live in Taiwan, moving to Taiwan as a retirement is a good idea as things are cheap and convenient stores are everywhere and opened 24/7.

China has Great potential in economy and political influence. From South to north, it shows very diverse culture and customs.

Xiamen is a very competitive city in living standard. Beijing is the centre of Chinese culture. Besides that, Hong Kong has wonderful shopping malls and is a financial centre in Asia-pacific. Shanghai is a growing financial city with both ancient and modern architecture.

Food is utmost. Four kinds of different styles of dishes in China could meet the requirement of different people.

Even though I don't live in China, I still consider it is a good country because they have really good stuff there than what America has. It is a little dirty but the food there is delicious! Like man, I am dying to get those awesome Supreme iPhone cases from China!

China is the most powerful country in Asia because it is livable in terms of education, sports, history, economy, commerce & livelihood. The whole nation is absolutely competitive from dynasties to this modern-day history! Should be on Top 3!

12 Mongolia Mongolia is a landlocked unitary sovereign state in East Asia. Its area is roughly equivalent with the historical territory of Outer Mongolia, and that term is sometimes used to refer to the current state.

Mongolian countryside is heavenly that's no doubt, probably the last country on earth where nomads and civilised people coexist together. Summer months are amazing especially in the countryside, the view and the nature is breathtakingly beautiful. The people are kind and friendly. The capital city offers plenty of entertainment and food for every taste and likes. The night life okayish. If you like ballet and classics you won't be too disappointment in what the city offers although its nothing like London and NYC. The culture is very different to Asian cities in general. Well its central Asia after all so be prepared. While capital city has seen great development over the last 10 years the gap between rich and poor is widening at a rapid rate you can see the contrast when you get up on the zaisan hill, the ger area pretty much surrounds the whole city and the high rise expensive condos near the zaisan area. Can't get any worse than that. The winter in the city is terrible. Well terrible is not even the worst word for it. But in places like zaisan or nukht where the upper middle and riches live you have nothing to worry about. S ee! t he gap... one thing I can vouch for Mongolia is that discrimination based on religion, skin colour, race and social status is almost nonexistent. If you're a black or an arab you won't be looked down upon. The locals will treat you just as they treat a white American or an European. If they could fix the existing problems, without a doubt they could be a great place to migrate to. But for now it ain't time just yet.

13 Kazakhstan Kazakhstan, officially known as the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a country in northern Central Asia, with a sliver of its territory west of the Ural River extending into Eastern Europe.

Kazakhstan is the most beautiful country in the world! In addition, the people here are very friendly, the culture is infinitely rich, it is undoubtedly the best country to live and work in!

You know the movie Borat? Well the main character is from this country. And, If you look it on a map, it's huge!

Vietnam is great! As a Vietnamese person, I can confirm that Vietnam's people are warm, friendly, and very welcoming. They will be much more than happy to befriend you. The scenery is amazing, and the history is very captivating.

Vietnam is a very lively city. Great tourism and sights! I've been there a couple of times and it always impresses me. The city, Ho Chi Minh city, is a great destination to hang out at. The nightlife there is like Los Angeles plus New York

Vietnam is always welcome. Vietnamese are friendly and always ready to help people. The cost in Vietnam is good... Hanoi to Saigon, full of ancient and modern things around. Very beautiful

I live here, althougth I don't think it's the best place to live in Asia, I am sure that its one of the best, developed country, multi-cultural people and a lot of freedom for the citizens of the country (the West Bank and gaza is another case). ofc it has its cons, extreamists people are leading us to war with extreamists from the other side, the cost of living is really expensive compared to your salary, but althoguth the country have a war in average every 3 years its pretty safe to say that the army doing good job protecting its citizens, althoguht not really moral against those the army attacks.

We are talking about the best Asian country to live in, not the best Asian countries to travel to. I've been to Iran three times, and the only reason why my parents decided to do that was because of my grandma. And it's way easier to live in Iran if you are a man. You don't need to cover yourself up till you die of heath. And actually, it's not easy for a man either. My uncle that is an engineer did not get his salary for a year. Thousands of Iranians are trying to get out of Iran, and I hope that everyone are going to succeed. so.. Yeah... I don't think Iran is a good place to live...

Iran is not very bad but it's not very good neither. It might be a little unfree but it's good generally. I'm not talking about culture or nature because it makes me sick when people start talking about 7000 years of history and... iran's only problems are the government and fascist people
and YES I am iranian myself

Oh where to start...
You get to see mount damavand (one of the largest mountains on earth)
Then there's the ancient buildings in citys like persopolis and isfahan that have history spanning out 2 thousand years from ancient empires and dynastys

Iran also has the dash te lut desert that was the hottest place on earth from 2003 till 2009(and has the highest ground temperatues ever recorded. Iran also is the founder of kababs, persian rugs and persian cats

There's also the chance to meet the ancient cultures and stuff of iran
