Prince Zuko is a fictional character in Nickelodeon's animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Zuko is a master firebender and his younger sister is Azula . He is the son of Prince Ozai and Princess Ursa .

Zuko is probably the best fantasy character I have ever seen and my favorite character of all time. We can all agree he is the most dynamic character in terms of development but what stunned me was hoe incredibly detailed he was as a character. The writers didn't just focus on one trait but tackled multiple themes. His many struggles are beautifully characterized using animation from his facial expressions to the metamorphoses scene (when he gets sick in ba sing se). You go on a journey with him. You see how he was forced to grow up fast but you also see how young and unsure he is. You experience with him his struggle through anger, shame, depression and what I interpreted as confusion almost to the point of insanity (after he returned home). Zuko can also be a very funny character when you look at how (understandably) socially awkward he is. The voice actor (Dante Basco) is perfect for the role and pulls off both drama and comedy brilliantly. The animation on Zuko is stunning and the ...more

Zuko's the bomb because he's like me in terms of personality and because he has a bad past like I do. One example is that he has a bad dad like I do.

Those Zuko haters who badmouthed him are narrow-minded lairs who can't get past his faults. If I'm him, I'd burn all of them.

As for those who claim that he's goofy and funny, they're liars. How the hell can you think that he's funny? He went through a lot of tough times. Maybe you should put yourselves in his shoes and experience what he experienced.

Another reason why I like Zuko is because he's serious-minded. And I like serious character more than funny ones because I can relate to them. Besides, I gave up on the usual kind of humor long ago, especially since I treat the word funny like an insult due to people using humor as an excuse to antagonize.

Having been through tough times doesn't mean he can't be funny! I think that he is both serious and funny. In fact, his seriousness makes him even funnier. - Goku02

One of the most three dimensional and well developed characters of all time, and I believe he deserves #1 on this list, I understand why SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star are above him since they are more iconic but does that really mean they're better? Don't get me wrong here, I love SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, but Zuko has had so much development throughout the series, in Book One, he was an anti-villain, in Book Two, he was an anti-hero, and in Book Three, he was an anti-villain and an anti-hero for the first half and then in the second half of Book Three, as time passed, he became a true hero. He's not just my favorite Avatar: The Last Airbender character, he's not just my favorite Nickelodeon character, he's not just my favorite cartoon character, he's not just my favorite television character but he's my favorite character of all time. - PeeledBanana

Here is a song about Zuko:

Zuko once was happy until he got his scar
Then he became obsessed with regaining his honour
He was only 14, when he moved to sea
Thought capturing the Avatar was his destiny

He made some bad choices, but after all his strife
Taught the Avatar some things had field trips, changed some lives

He got struck with lighting bolts, Katara saved the day
But now he has to spend his life forever now with Mai - mtndew37

Zuko is the character who learned the most, changed the most, and ultimately taught US as the audience the most. Through him we learned the coexistence of good and evil is not just possible; it is in everything, somewhere, somehow. It doesn't hurt that he's also an amazing jerkass with a heart of gold who actually has his goofy moments that make Zuko... Zuko.

This guy, he's honestly one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time. Don't get me wrong, Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, Iroh, Suki, and all the other characters are all awesome but Zuko is such a character who has so much character development throughout the series, perfect backstory and everything. He was never a villain, he just wanted to prove himself but later on he realized what his own true destiny is. - PeeledBanana

I think Zuko is the best because he has the most difficult past (again, this is just my opinion) and the hardest life. But in the end, he his the most boss character I know,

Zuko a back story is amazing. He has been through the so many tough times. After so many bad decisions he choose the right path, to his own destiny

Book 1: ugh here comes the moody teenager again!
Book 2: oh I kinda feel bad...

The best developed and most sympathetic character! He was a great foil to Aang's sense of justice and free spirit.

I've been watching ATLA since the first episode (when I was in 2nd grade) and I still get goosebumps about how he turned from an evil prince who was obsessed with honor, to a valuable member of team avatar. In season 1 I was used to Zuko having no compassion even for his uncle. In season 2 he started to show signs of redemption but choose to betray his uncle for his fathers attention. However in season 3"s The Western Airtemple the moment when Zuko became part of team avatar it felt like the biggest moment in the show's history. Also when you saw Zuko vs Azula the first few times he was completely outmatched and was in his sisters shadow. He then eventually got better against her and in the final episode he even got the better of her, showing his strength and skill. My point is he is the embodiment of everything satisfying (and great) about ATLA

Once you finish the last episode of this show, you'll never think of Zuko the same way again - thunderstar1124

Zuko is just plain awesome, and yes, he was stronger than Azula in their final battle

Zuko was never evil, just confused between his honour and his heart. Inspiring.

He is my favourite character, great story behind him and best drawn character

Zuko is awesome, who would hate him. A person who actually likes Azula and Ozai.

Good character and too smart and good looking

Zuko is the character I'd really want to be friends with, out of them all.

I'm not good with words describing my feelings for things but if I ever had a favourite character in anything it's Zuko I was pleased to see he is at the top.
I actually cared for Zuko's quest and adventure more than Aang's. - anthhhhh

Oh Zuko you're the best character ever

I'm a teen, so I sympathize with this character. Angst, be damned.

Best character development I've ever seen in any show ever.

I'm happy we're all on the same page here. Zuko is definitely #1!

He's the most inspirational character of Avatar. - TwilightKitsune
