Top 10 Awesome Disney Movies That a Lot of People Hate

These movies are the bomb! But not everyone seems to agree.
The Top Ten
1 Frozen

Standalone, unbiased, I feel as though Frozen is a film that is very hard to hate-hate. For one thing, it isn't The Cat In The Hat or The Last Airbender kind of "bad". Like those movies are the realest bad of all cinematic bads, and Frozen is just not as bad in terms of writing, directing, casting, and effects - at least, I see no reason to loathe it like those atrocities. it also sticks to the Disney formula, so it wouldn't make sense to hate it much more than any other princess movie. I suppose the story is messy (who even is the protagonist? And is Hans, Weaselton, Elsa or the snow marshmallow the antagonist? ), but it makes up for it with plot driving songs and the innocuous fun that Disney has always promised.

In the end, at least the animation is beautiful. I feel like that's as close to indisputably "good" this film gets.

Wow! This is probably one of the most hated movies these days. When this movie first came out, it was rare to hear people say that they hate it. These days, it's rare to hear people say that they like it. Yes, it's everywhere and the songs are overplayed but that doesn't make it a bad movie. People say the story doesn't make much sense and the songs are annoying but Hercules makes even less sense and the songs (except one) are beyond terrible and yet people seem to like that movie even though it sucks, big time. The songs in Frozen are pretty good. Let it Go is still one of my favorites because Idina Menzel sings it and it reminds me of Defying Gravity from Wicked. For the First Time in Forever is pretty good too and Kristen Bell is a good singer. The characters are likeable but I will admit, Hans being the villain was very predictable. I saw it coming from the moment he first appeared on screen. Olaf is very funny and enjoyable. Very awesome movie but still one problem. How did Elsa ...more

I hate it secretly but my parents ain't knowing that who else knows? They tell me to watch a hated movie without knowing it, frozen is the most hated movie I think, and also. Frozen is just a movie about a fridge. See someone just shooting ice from hands by a normal person! This movie nobody likes even though "It's successful" nobody likes it actually, they're pretending that they might like it or not.

This movie was actually a good movie. I don't see how people can say that thy hate this movie so much. It teaches kids that you shouldn't hide secrets from your siblings and not to trust everyone that you meet, because those who you thought were your friend can actually be a total ass and stab you in the back.

2 Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I have read many comments on YouTube regarding Episode VII. A majority of those commenters didn't like this movie. Some of them said is was worse than the prequels. Most the hate comes from the fact that this movie uses too many elements from Episode IV. That's the only reason I can think of but who cares? For a while people said Disney would ruin Star Wars. First of all, Disney doesn't make the new Star Wars movies, they just distribute them. Second of all, ever since Disney bought Marvel, those movies have been doing pretty well. The Force Awakens is definitely the triumphant return of Star Wars. There are still plenty of people who liked this movie, including me. Rey is hot, BB-8 is funny, Finn is awesome, and Poe is beyond awesome. In my opinion, this was the best movie of 2015 and the second best Star Wars movie. Thank you and may the force be with you.

This was a very solid Star Wars movie. I am not happy to see so many people turning on it so quickly like it was 'Avatar' or something. Sure, it has a number of similarities to 'A New Hope' but still feels very much like its own animal.

Just because people say that it's too much like A New Hope is fine to me. But when they say it's bad and they only give that reason and saying Kylo Ren is whiney enrages me. Just note that Kylo Ren isn't Darth Vader, he's recent.

What? is this really on the place where I think it is? NUMBER 2?! That movie was awesome! I am waiting for episode VIII, and if I created this website, I would at least put it in the last place!

3 Wreck-It Ralph

No, the hate isn't about Sonic. If anything, I've only seen complaints that Sonic wasn't in it enough. Which brings me to the real source of the hate: everyone just wanted or was expecting a big crossover involving their favorite game characters, didn't even have to be coherent as long as it was non-stop characters and references like "The Lego Movie". But they got an actual plot centered on the original characters and the "game jumping" ended fifteen minutes in for the sake of said actual plot, therefore it "sucks".

People hate it because of Sonic making three cameos (One isn't really a cameo, he's on the screen in Game Central, the second is when Ralph bursts into the parts and it shows the Nicelanders gasping, Sonic can be seen behind them, and finally in the crowd at Felix and Calholn's wedding, sorry if I spelled that wrong).

The hate comes from the fact that Sonic made too many cameos. He shouldn't be in a Disney movie. At least Shadow the Hedgehog didn't appear in the film (what an overrated little --- he is) but I still worry about the sequel.

This movie is all about being rejected and working your way back up to the top. I see no reason for hate.

4 The Good Dinosaur

If there are two things that Pixar is good at, it's emotional portrayal and good animation. The two things I come to see a Pixar movie for is emotional portrayal and good animation. The whole point of seeing a Pixar movie is to see emotional portrayal and good animation. And this movie does that. It has great emotional portrayal, and it most certainly has breathtaking, realistic animation. The characters and forced emotional portrayals are bad, yes, but when think about it, the two pros outweigh the two cons. Emotional portrayal and good animation are what we are expecting in a Pixar movie, and The Good Dinosaur does exactly that.

This was probably Pixar's biggest bomb. I can kinda see why but I thought this was an enjoyable movie. I had a really easy time connecting with the characters and I felt bad for Arlo when he was separated from his family. I also love the relationship between Arlo and Spot, especially when Spot finds his family. That scene doesn't have dialogue but I could still feel their emotion. You know, now that I think about it, this movie is kind of similar to both The Lion King and The Land Before Time.

I'm probably the only one here that actually likes The Good Dinosaur. Sure, Toy Story and Inside Out are better, but I really enjoyed watching The Good Dinosaur. I thought the animation and the second half of the story were enjoyable, and I cried at the end of the movie and at the stick scene.

Some reason the movie just didn't feel good to me.I see how some people could like it but while watching it I kept getting the feeling that it was a stupid movie and that I wasted my time on it

5 Brave

I love Brave as an experience, and the visuals are stunning, but I admit the story gets a little out of hand. Like the writers must've been really high one day when they were bouncing around the idea of bear magic, because the plot makes no sense. What is this witch's backstory? Why does Merida request a potion so vaguely? what was that whole thing with the tapestry and why was that the only solution to not be a bear anymore? What happens to the three brothers? And how does becoming a bear by Merida's own carelessness show to her mother that she has the responsibility to govern her life rationally?

Say what you wanna say, and let your words fall out, honestly, I wanna see you love Brave. I'm not saying this is among the greatest Pixar movies, but I still liked it. The relationship between Merida and Elanor reminds me of the relationship between my sister and my mother, except the part where Elanor turns into a bear. I also like how adventurous Merida is, even though she doesn't do much adventuring in the movie. There also seems to be more adult jokes in this one than other Pixar movies. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't surprised that it won it Oscar. I honestly think the Oscar should've gone to Wreck-it Ralph. However, it's still a good movie. Also, I'm convinced the witch in this movie is Boo from Monsters Inc. she has a wood carving a Sully after all.

I've never understood people absolutely hating this film. Is it Pixar at it's strongest? No. But it is still highly enjoyable and has some great moments. It's also great to see a mother daughter relationship, because you never see that from Pixar. Far from the best, but also far from the worst.

Merida is the second Disney female to have her mother present in a movie with her through out the whole thing, despite being turned into a bear. This is my favorite Pixar movie and I don't think people can say they hate it because it has so much real life experiences presented in the movie.

6 Alice in Wonderland

People hate this because it's too episodic and disjointed. But Alice in Wonderland is also loyal to its source material, beautifully animated, has a killer soundtrack as well as so many amazing characters. A true masterpeice

7 Cinderella

I HATE the singing in it! Plus the sisters are ugly.

The sisters are meant to be ugly.

8 Avengers: Age of Ultron

What time is it? Avenger time! Sorry for that dumb overused joke. Now, the first Avengers movie was mostly about getting the heroes to settle their differences and work together to save the world. In this one, they have gotten better at working together and there are even parts of the movie where we see them do more bonding. The action is also very outstanding. We even find out that Clint Barton is married to Wendy from Gravity Falls. So yeah, this movie is better than the first one. The funniest part in the first one was the puny god scene and the funniest part in this one was Vision picking up the hammer.

This move was awesome. It wasn't as good as the first though. So sad when Quicksilver died. I'd rather see Hawkeye die but he is married so that can't happen. Not a fan of Black Wiidow and Hulk. Not a huge fan of how the Avengers disassembled in the end.

People hate this movie? Yikes I love this film

This Avengers trilogy is so underrated, but why is Fantasia, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and some Disney Channel original movies not on this list?! :(

9 Atlantis: The Lost Empire
10 The Lion King

Oh, shoot. Here come The Lion King haters. They're just as worse as Sword Art Online haters. Let me tell you a few things, TLK haters. First, you guys barely give little to no reason as to why people should hate the movie. Second, fans already know about the hyena stereotypes, so get over it. I hate the animal stereotypes too, but it is not enough to make people hate this movie. Third, stop forcing your opinions down our throats on people who love the movie. So shut up, haters! You've ruined this list with your annoying hate comments like Sword Art Online haters did with that 107 Facts You Should Know About Sword Art Online video!

Best movie to ever exist. Haters are gonna try and ruin this list with the hyena stereotypes, but who even cares about that? There are SO many other movies with the same stereotypical people in them, so why pick on this one? It has a lot of soul in it, covering sorrow and the climb back up to happiness through like, I don't know, 2 hours? So if you hate the stereotypes in this movie, go watch Pitch Perfect. Everyone loves it despite the stereotypes like the control freak, the stupid one, the quiet one, and the fat one(Audrey,John, Lily, and Fat Amy). It should be the same way with TLK, but NO, the haters come rolling in. My point is, if you hate something, go make a list about it.

Sword Art Online deserves to be loved more than The Lion King. And no, TLK haters are not bad people, they just have their opinion like the more rotten TLK lovers do. There are more than just one valid reason to hate the movie. One of the reasons why I'm trying to make people hate the film is because the film should not exist in the first place and I feel it is the dumbest idea and mistake to come out of Disney. All of TLK's characters are abominations that reinforced dumb character tropes that likely have been the biggest flaw in other movies, yet people treat TLK like god and other movies like absolute trash compared to it. It's hard to find positive reviews for certain animated flicks because of everyone's praise of TLK. I'm glad everyone is aware of the awful stereotypes this flick generates, and one of the reasons to hate the three hyenas is because they're a trio, and having a comic relief trio as henchmen is one of the most overused tropes in animated movies and does not suit ...more

I know what Sword Art Online is (of course, am fond of the anime/game side of popular culture, sue me). No other movie or such are worse or have worse tropes than The Lion King, so what you've said is only your personal opinion and not the truth.

Heck, I can argue that The Lion King is basically a worse version of all other animated movies combined, not the better that you all mistaken it as.

The Contenders
11 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I'm one of the few people who actually like the Pirates sequels. Well, except for At World's End. I hated the ending of this movie but the rest of it was great, especially when watching in 3D. The mermaid fight was incredible, Blackbeard was a great villain, and Jack Sparrow was great as always. Unfortunately, Will Turner wasn't in this movie but I look forward to seeing him return next year in Dead Men Tell No Tales.

I love the pirate of the Caribbean movies. I don't know anyone who hates this film. Come on people WAKE UP!

12 Chicken Little

Alright. So..I've met some people who hate this movie to not even remembering this movie, but this movie by Disney was..unexpected. It feels different from the other movies made by Disney. The thing I like about this movie is that difference. It has a plot starting out as "a smaller kid who's smart, but gets picked on a lot" to "a save the world from aliens! " At first, it didn't make sense to me. Why such the sudden change in plot? But then it occured to me...
The plot was supposed to be a metaphor of sorts for the main character and the morals it's teaching. It was a very deep movie to me and it was enjoyable. The characters might've been cliche, but the things that were done to them was totally unexpected. (Foxy Loxy was brainwashed and STAYED that way instead of turning back! ) Overall, this movie isn't for everyone, but it was definitely really good and enjoyable. (Esp if you have a weakness for Sci-Fi or Disney's anthro characters)

My mother and I actually watched this movie in theaters when it first came out. I still have the free AOL disc that they gave out which has free wallpapers based on this movie.

There were a lot of aspects that I liked in this movie except for the fact that Chicken Little's dad was a complete ass. The ending was also a huge slap in the face.

Probably one of Disneys worst movies The characters were too cliche, the characters were rude and terrible, and the plot was bad. When I was young I really enjooyed this now I realized how bad it is

13 Sleeping Beauty
14 Iron Man 3

People say this is the worst movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nope. That would be Iron Man 2. For me, I thought this movie was very awesome! I'm pretty sure people hate it because of the plot twist involving the Mandarin. That and Tony giving away his address to the world. Yeah, that was pretty stupid. However, this movie has the best action out of the trilogy and is definitely the funniest of the trilogy. All the Iron Man suits near the end was very amazing. Also, Tony gets his arc reactor removed at the end, how come he never did it before when he really needed to? I'm gonna have to make a Top 10 Plot Holes in Marvel Movies list.

Loved this movie. Many favorite parts were when Tony was in Tennesse with that kid. The kid was great. This movie was hilarious. I would have rather had a more threatening villain, though.

What? Why are most of these superhero movies?

15 Big Hero 6

If you absoultely cannot just say "the best Disney movie ever" without telling another to "suck it", please redirect that towards Zootopia which has overshadowed Frozen thanks to the former being Tumblr in movie form.

The best Disney movie ever!
Suck it Frozen!

16 Wall-E
17 Bolt

The first time I saw it was in theaters in Kindergarten during after school care (back in Kindergarten and first grade they used to take the kids on some field trips that were cool).

One of my favorite cartoons. Why do people hate it? Just because Miley Cyrus was in this movie? Wow, grow up people, it's a great movie!

I love Bolt! Wait, Miley Cyrus was in this movie? I never knew. Still, it shouldn't keep people from enjoying a great movie!

Just because Miley Cyrus has a role doesn't mean its bad.

18 Cars

I am probably one of the only people on this website who actually likes Cars. Of course, movies such as Toy Story and Monsters Inc. are better, but Cars was an enjoyable movie for me. Now here's the real issue: Can you really call it bad compared to its sequel?

I am one of the only Disney lovers who really loves Cars. I love all Pixar movies. Cars is just a fun ride and really enjoyable movie, and I just really understand the hate. It's definitely not as bad as that one that we'll never talk of.

That movie was awful! JUST AWFUL! it is the only Disney movie I hated apart from the good dinosaur! the only part I liked was when Lightning McQueen accidentally destroyed everything.

This movie is WAY too under-rated. In my opinion, the best animated Disney movie.

19 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure
20 Brother Bear

This, Gordy, and Oliver & Company are the most underrated Disney movies ever! Each one has a great story and is heartwarming! People need to realize that it doesn't have to be famous or popular to be great! If you haven't watched this or Gordy yet, please do! They are both on Netflix.

I absolutely love this film. Saw it in theatres back in 2003 and the general dislike people have for this film is not understood by me. Sure, it's no 'Beauty and the Beast' or 'The Lion King' but it's solid, warm, funny, and beautifully animated.

38% on Rotten Tomatoes? I will admit, this movie has problems like Kenai turning into a bear and the voice actor for Koda being annoying, but that didn't really ruin the movie for me. The humor is pretty good, the songs (except for one) are pretty good, and the animation is, well, pretty good. Never watched the sequel but I'm sure it sucks like the other Disney sequels.

This is my one of my favorite childhood movies, it shows how you need to accept they way you are and enjoy life to the fullest. The sequel wasn't as good but it was watchable.

21 Dumbo
22 The Aristocats

I actually loved this!

23 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
24 Mary Poppins

I was the only one in my family who liked it.
