Top Ten Best Back-Up Singers, for One Song

To bring long overdue attention to the wonderful back- up, or background singers, but for one song. If there is any song that the back-up singer or singers sound so good to you, then please add them. It may take some research to find the name of the singer, but you just may be surprised how many famous singers have done back-up vocals at some point. Adding the name of the back up singer(s) is not necessary. If you like the backing vocals in a particular song, you can just add the song if you like. I'll just add 10 that I like and leave some obvious ones for others to add. Or maybe the ones that do it for you are not so obvious. All genres welcome. Duets and harmony count.
The Top Ten
1 Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones (Merry Clayton)
2 I'm Not In Love - 10cc (Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley, Lol Creme, Kathy Redfern)

There is always a part of me that feels bad when a backup singer is not properly credited on a song.

3 (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman - Aretha Franklin (Cissy Houston, Sylvia Shemwell, Dee Dee Warwick, Carolyn Franklin, Irma Franklin)

Brilliant soulful arrangement.

4 Because - The Beatles (Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison)

For a band so close to the end, these boys could still harmonize like few others. Triple tracked harmony vocals, Paul high, John middle and George low.

Does not exactly fit the parameters of the list. As noted, it was one of the last and final times, but this was about as far from "one time" as you can get.

5 Lights - Journey (Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie, Ross Valory)

One of many Journey songs that would fit in nicely

6 Lyin' Eyes - Eagles (Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner)
7 Higher Love - Steve Windwood (Chaka Khan)

Beatiful voice. She makes the song for me. Well, her and them horns.

8 Magnet and Steel - Walter Egan ( Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Annie McLoone,John Selk, Tom Moncreiff  )

Lots of back-up singers, but it's worth it. Smooth and melodic. Nicks and Buckingham are of course from Fleetwood Mac, and some of the great singing voices from that crew should show up again on this list.

9 Fame - David Bowie (John Lennon)

Listen closely and you'll clearly hear John Lennon's distinctive singing voice. Among my favorite Bowie songs as well... Lennon also collaborated with Bowie in his cover of the Beatles "Across The Universe".

10 The Load Out/Stay - Jackson Browne (Rosemary Butler)

It's not long, but it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. The song itself is great and is worth a spin if you don t know of it. If you do know it, you know what I'm talking about. Rosemary's brilliant voice is found in the 2nd song ("Stay") in the medley
