Top Ten Bad Albums by Good Metal Bands

The Top Ten
1 St. Anger - Metallica

Metallica later albums are nothing compared to their first five

St. Anger is terrible. In other news, fire is hot.

No doubt this would be number 1.

Well duh. I hate this album.

2 Risk - Megadeth

As the title suggests, Megadeth took a risk in changing their sound. The result? See for yourself... Or can you risk it?

This album is just boring. Like Metallica with St Anger, Megadeth tried something new and it didn't work. We all forgave them.

Yep, this is bad. At least Metallica's St. Anger didn't have pop and disco songs on it...

I blame Marty for this album. Glad they fired him.

3 Illud Divinum Insanus - Morbid Angel

I think that the idea of mixing industrial metal and death metal and the songwriting on this album is pretty cool, but there are some flaws in its execution. The technique this album uses of "industrializing" everything is making the music incredibly distorted, which is definitely very industrial sounding. The problem is, the production doesn't quite match up, so the instruments start to sound watered down and not as clear as they should be. The drums are probably what suffer the most on this album, because along with their tone being less than pleasing, they seem a bit slow, lackluster, and again, unclear. This album isn't completely terrible though. Dave's vocals aren't too bad, and Trey Azagthoth's guitar skills are still evident throughout the album. I think this album can best be described as an ambitious concept marred by bad production.

Lesson Learned: death metal and industrial metal don't mix.

4 Forbidden - Black Sabbath

I like Ice T and Body Count, just not here. Seriously, why did Tony Iommi think that having him rap on and produce the album would work?

The '80s era of Sabbath is underrated. However the '90s brought something new to the table... This garbage.

Their worst album

5 Lulu - Metallica

This isn't even in the top ten?

This is horrible, and St. Anger is one of their best in my humble opinion

I think the last song Junior Dad was the only good song on this album if you're high

6 Dedicated to Chaos - Queensryche

Between the period of 1995 - 2011, Queensryche released a lot of crap material. However none were quite as bad as this.

7 Pink Bubbles Go Ape - Helloween

They had just released Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2! One of the greatest albums of all time! How could they make such a bad follow up! And the follow up to THIS was pretty bad too.

8 Metal Magic - Pantera

Unfortunately, this isn't the Pantera we know and love. This is glam rock, shouldn't even be called Metal Magic. More like Studio Magic.

I still thought they would have been good with Dimebag and Vinnie.

I honestly can't believe that Pantera started off as a hair metal band lmao.

9 Divine Intervention - Slayer

I've personally never really disliked this album. I certainly wouldn't say I like it, but whatever. The title track is not bad, but the production is easily a huge turnoff.

Dude... Divine intervention isn't nu metal it was hands down 100% pure thrash. Diabolus in musical was the nu metal album

Could have had better production, but the album is AWESOME. Sounds better live!

As with Morbid Angel, thrash and nu metal don't mix.

10 Super Collider - Megadeth
The Contenders
11 The Path of Totality - Korn

Nu-metal, and dubstep. The pioneers of nu-metal, and dubstep. I'll let that sink in a little bit.

Not good, not very

12 Framing Armageddon - Iced Earth

I could equally say The Crucible of man, but this came out first. They're still both equally disappointing.

13 Virtual XI - Iron Maiden

Not that bad. I think most people didn't even give this album a listen, just heard The Angel and the Gambler and based their views on that.

14 Killswitch Engage - Killswitch Engage
15 No Prayer for the Dying - Iron Maiden
16 Devildriver - Devildriver

DevilDriver turned out to be a great modern groove metal outfit, but their early life was a bit rough. This album tries to be extreme, but it seems to retain a bit too much nu-metal influence from Dez Fafara's Coal Chamber days. Thankfully, it was all uphill from here, and each subsequent release from them has been great.

17 Chinese Democracy - Guns and Roses
18 Vengeance Falls - Trivium

What the hell are you talking about? This albums is in the same level than Shogun or Ascedancy

19 Ember to Inferno - Trivium

Not bad, but very low compared to their later works

20 Gloria - Disillusion

A disappointing follow up to their fantastic debut.

21 Siren Charms - In Flames

It's listenable, but it wouldn't be so hard to digest if it didn't have "In Flames" written all over it as a reminder of how good every other album of theirs is compared to this.

22 Projects in the Jungle - Pantera

Probably the most listenable of the glam albums. I don't consider Power Metal glam

23 A Thousand Suns - Linkin Park

This is one of their best in my opinion, and it's certainly not bad

24 The Final Frontier - Iron Maiden
25 Magma - Gojira

This album is not bad! They simply tried another direction!

Calm down, this was only a joke
