Top Ten Bad Anime that are Praised by Thatanimesnob

Do you remember that I made a list regarding all the good anime Thatanimesnob hates? Well I am doing the opposite now: Bad anime he praises. Why? He is constantly bashing the opinions of casual anime fans who just want to watch something for enjoyment, while stating anime has to have critical thinking, be from a retro source material, or have retro aspects in them to be good. So this is a good counterattack to his argument.
The Top Ten
1 Kenzen Robo Daimidaler

He hates Konosuba for "pandering to otakus" while it is actually a self-aware parody of the fantasy world trope, and a good one. Daimidaler on the other hand, he likes it for being a "self-aware" parody of the mecha genre while it is extremely bound to fail hard and would have given mecha anime an even worse name than the 2nd season of Aldnoah.Zero, if it ever became popular (but thankfully, it never did). The synopsis makes me want to cringe so hard I wonder why ThatAnimeSnob even bothered to get into anime in the first place. Don't bother watching this, I won't either.

2 The Tatami Galaxy

His second best and my worst anime ever seen, both the same. He loves it for "emphasizing" critical thinking and uses that argument to give a middle finger to casual anime fans who just want something good to watch. Well, how is there critical thinking when almost everything is being narrated for you, at speeds of Koenigsegg cars (yes I made an analogy but the narration is so fast and so long, it drags out all the time)? I only watched three episodes then dropped it afterwards, but I can predict it will drag on for the entire series.

3 Legend of the Galactic Heroes

As he constantly uses Legend of the Galactic Heroes to insult everyone who doesn't have the same opinions as him, I decide that without watching it, I automatically hate Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

4 Ghost in the Shell Debuting in 1995 as an anime film, Ghost in the Shell was based on a manga by Masamune Shirow. The franchise has since expanded into multiple series and films. It explores themes of identity, artificial intelligence, and existentialism through its protagonist, Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg federal agent in a future Japan. The franchise has had a significant impact on cyberpunk culture and media.

As ThatAnimeSnob constantly insults Psycho-Pass with Ghost in the Shell, it definitely makes me want to hate Ghost in the Shell because of how much I enjoyed Psycho-Pass. And he hasn't stopped insulting it.

It's a masterpiece.

5 Sailor Moon Crystal Sailor Moon Crystal, known in Japan as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal, is a 2014 original net animation adaptation of the shōjo manga series Sailor Moon written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi and produced in commemoration of the original series' 20th anniversary.

A total disgrace to the Sailor Moon franchise, that is a terrible adaptation of the beloved manga of the same name, also a horrible remake of the classic wonderful anime, and it is filled with besides bland, rushed action scenes, to quote this guy John from AnimeNation.net, weak, underwritten characterizations, glaring lapses in logic and story development, simply ugly art design and appallingly stilted and clunky animation quality.

Season III is fairly decent but also mediocre. - SailorSedna

A generic magical girl anime that only serves to repel anime fans (at least Madoka Magica had something interesting that might have pulled me into that series, which makes me more lenient on it by rating it average than outright terrible now).

6 Digimon Tamers Digimon Tamers, known as Digimon: Digital Monsters in English-speaking territories, is the third anime television series of the Digimon franchise, produced by Toei Animation.

I will have to agree with him that Pokemon is terrible, but still, Digimon, being a kids anime series, is also terrible.

7 Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is a Japanese anime television series produced by Gainax, as well as a series of tie-in media developed around it. The series ran from October to December 2010 on BS Nittele.

The creator said he was inspired by American adult cartoons such as Drawn Together, and frankly I can see the relation. It sadly borders on lazy rather than stylistic suck, and only a few select episodes excel. Plus the ending was complete garbage and came out of nowhere.

No! Just no! Gainax always has to add excessive amounts of fanservice while making most of them unfunny which utterly ruins the anime. And never in my entire life will I ever watch it.

8 Detroit Metal City

Oh boy. The metal genre has come so far... only to suffer a nail in the coffin by this sorry excuse of satire.

9 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

I have seen some of it but I was never really invested into it, considering that the art style was so different (and in this case, so terrible) compared to Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, and Stardust Crusaders. It truly feels like a massive downgrade in quality compared to its preceding arcs.

10 Cromartie High School

He says GAR works in everything, even in school comedies. Well, not here, as when I watched a few clips of it, I couldn't even get a laugh out of it. The comedy here, from what I saw, is terribly forced and the GAR is just pandering solely to ThatAnimeSnob.

12 Neon Genesis Evangelion Neon Genesis Evangelion, commonly referred to as Evangelion or Eva, is a Japanese animated television series produced by Gainax and Tatsunoko Production, and directed by Hideaki Anno.

At this point him tearing apart the opinions of those who didn't see it as a masterpiece like he did has made me see it as a disaster, already!

13 From the New World From the New World is a Japanese novel by Yusuke Kishi, originally published in 2008 by Kodansha. It received the 29th Nihon SF Taisho Award.

It's alright now but it certainly was bad at one point in time. Granted the premise of deconstructing psychokinesis with spirituality and more mature themes was an amazing start, it somewhere along the line screwed up to being a bad anime, and while it did pick up afterwards, it didn't pick itself up to being as good as it was in the start, resulting in a merely decent anime.

14 Princess Tutu Princess Tutu is a Japanese magical girl anime series created by Ikuko Itoh in 2002 for animation studio Hal Film Maker. 15 Millennium Actress
16 Dennou Coil

"Best proxy battle anime because it is not about that" - ThatAnimeSnob
Then what does he even like about it, too much thought provoking, or is it retro? whatever it is, he lies about most anime he hates just to have "superiority", when really he is a mere hauteur.

17 Blue Gender

Another one of his "retro is always better than modern" manchild arguments, talking crap about Attack On Titan and dismissing that as a ripoff while constantly praising this sorry excuse of "ThatAnimeSnob likes this retro garbage crap" simply for the sake of being retro! Talk about Pathetic.

18 Haibane Renmei Haibane Renmei (灰羽連盟, "Charcoal Feather Federation") is a Japanese anime television series. It is based on an original dōjinshi manga series by Yoshitoshi ABe, The Haibanes of Old Home (オールドホームの灰羽達, Ōrudo-hōmu no Haibane-tachi), which was released from 1998 to 2002 and left unfinished as work on the anime began. The 13-episode series was animated by Radix and broadcast on Fuji TV between October and December 2002. It was also broadcast on Animax Asia in English and French under the title Ailes Grises (Grey Wings). ...read more.

Makes me want to watch Angel Beats due to how much crap he talks about that using this retro-grade nonsense.

19 Area 88

Uses is to diss Gate (a great modern fantasy military anime), so of course Area 88 is a failure.
