Most Badass Cartoons and Anime

The Top Ten
1 South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.
2 Metalocalypse Metalocalypse is an American animated television series, created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha, which premiered on August 6, 2006 on Adult Swim.

With a name like that, it has to be badass.

3 Batman: The Animated Series Batman: The Animated Series is an American animated television series based on the DC Comics superhero Batman.

Should be #1 because this show was my CHILDHOOD! I'm a 15 year old girl and I've been watching this since I was 5 because I was a tomboy back then, Batman's the most badass superhero ever, he uses his fists to bring supervillains to justice, and I don't even know what Metapocalypse is, but BTAS is a great show that has my favorite superhero Batman and also introduced my favorite supervillain Harley Quinn, so this should be #1 regardless.

4 Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a Japanese anime television series directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, with screenplay written by Masaki Tsuzuki, and produced by Seven Arcs.

Especially the third season, StrikerS

5 Fist of the North Star Fist of the North Star is a Japanese manga series written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1983 to 1988, the 245 chapters were initially collected in 27 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha.
6 Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray for Nickelodeon. The series centers on the surreal life of an anthropomorphic Australian-immigrant wallaby named Rocko as well as his friends: the gluttonous steer Heffer, the neurotic turtle Filburt, and Rocko's faithful dog Spunky.

You can complain about this show's similarities to Ren & Stimpy until the cows come home, but don't even start that nonsense about the show "trying too hard" to be edgy. Even if the show was clearly marketed to the wrong target audience (largely inappropriate for kids), it is easily my favorite cartoon ever made. Not the most badass, but still the best in my opinion. It's basically South Park in reverse.

This was literally an adult show retooled into a kids' show, and it still managed to be a largely adult-focused show regardless. At heart, we all know that this show is awesome, even if we do sometimes refuse to admit this to ourselves.

Any cartoon that has the balls to include more adult humor, social satire and subliminal messages than SpongeBob and Ren & Stimpy combined deserves a spot on the top five of this list. Enough said.

Is true Rocko's Modern Life has dirty jokes on the show

7 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is an anime and manga franchise originally written by Hirohiko Araki. It centers around the perilous journey of the members of the legendary Joestar bloodline.

Coolest manga ever, and it brought us Dio Brando. What more could you ask?

8 King of Braves GaoGaiGar
9 Dragon ball Z Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Dragon Ball Z follows the adventures of Goku who, along with the Z Warriors, defends the Earth against evil. The action adventures are entertaining and reinforce the concept of good versus evil. Dragon Ball Z teaches valuable character virtues such as teamwork, loyalty, and trustworthiness.

Of all animes, this one is the most popular in the States without a doubt.

Its nice but it is overly popular.

10 ViViD Strike!
The Contenders
11 Senki Zesshou Symphogear
12 Powerpuff Girls The Powerpuff Girls is an American animated television series created by animator Craig McCracken for Cartoon Network.

This is definitely dope as heck. There is blood, especially when Buttercup knocks out all the stuff from Him. Don't fool this for a little girl's show, this show is pretty bloody in some episodes. There is even a scene in the show where Buttercup knocks the guts out of Mojo Jojo.

13 Death Note Death Note is a Japanese television drama anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The show is centered around Light Yagami - a promising highschooler and aspiring detective with a strong sense of "justice".

"I'll take a potato chip... AND! EAT IT! " Words to live by.

14 Invader Zim Invader Zim is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez for Nickelodeon. The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR.

As much as I hate the fake-ass "goth/emo" atmosphere of this show... As much as it bores me to death... You cannot deny that it is probably the second coolest show ever on Nickelodeon.

I don't know to thank you or tease your comment, Xander!

I was not very fan of Samurai Jack

Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in an Asiatic-like world in which some people are able to manipulate the classical elements by use of psychokinetic variants of Chinese martial arts, known as "bending". This show is often seen as one of the greatest cartoons of all time and is commonly thought to be an anime.

This deserves to be in top 5. It is an excellent show.

Almost as good as real anime.
