Bands that are Incorrectly Labelled as Gothic Metal
Clarification — just because you have a female singer and have sad lyrics, it doesn't mean your band is gothic metal. Gothic metal is doom metal + death metal + a little bit of black metal.Also, as I mentioned in another list, many rock and nu-metal bands are incorrectly labelled as metal. This is taken into account as well.
Finally, gothic metal doesn't really have anything to do with goths and gothic rock. The latter is for 15 year old girls, the former is just a genre of metal.

I like early Nightwish, but they are 0% gothic metal. They don't even have extreme vocals.

Manson joined these two names together because he wanted a name combined with good (Monroe) and evil (Manson). The other members of the band have their stage names combined with the first names of famous sex symbols and the last names of famous serial killers.
