Top 10 Bands that Aren't Really Unique as People Claim

Some people claim these bands are unique and I don't see why cause their not. Please note this is just my opinion so avoid raging ok?

The Top Ten

1 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums). The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition more.

"If you don't want to read contrary opinions, discussions and arguments..." Wow. There's a real disconnect, here. It's not a matter of not wanting to read such things. It's a matter of not letting error, and often pure nonsense, go unchallenged. There seems to be real aversion to debate on this site, due, in no small part, to the inability to defend assertions and opinions, and worse, the prevailing belief that an opinion should be honored simply because someone holds it. All opinions are not equal. If an opinion is not founded on some factual basis, if it has no connection to objective reality, it is worthless.

So you're saying that opinions need facts that if they aren't realistic via the same as everyone else their useless. Kinda beats the point of a opinion there, opinions don't need factual basis they are just opinions on what someone thinks of something. Lastly I think you're being a bit of a nuisance.

As has been mentioned, there is not such thing as a "unique" band or artist. An even larger point has been brought up, the propensity of TTT's largely mid-teens posters to their opinion is valid just because they hold it. Furthermore, they feel that dissenting opinion holds no value when compared to theirs. This is the primary reason that a few years ago, lists routinely got 1,000, 10,000, or even 100,000 votes. Now its lucky if a list gets 100 votes, everybody just left and did not come back.

It's a mix of Queen with the Eagles oh and copyright infringement=Led Zeppelin the most overrated rock band I've ever known.

You know you've wandered into a separate and bizarre reality when FACTS are down-voted. Stairway To Heaven was found in COURT to have been NOT plagiarized.

If you don't want to read contrary opinions, discussions and arguments of topics, you probably should consider Not introducing subjects in lists, posts and comments of your own on this site. The lists belong to the site once you submit them, and the admin and creators of the site intend for, allow and approve the comments. - Billyv

2 KISS KISS Kiss is an American hard rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and the band's original manager, Lew Linet.

They are known as one of the most generic bands and they use costumes and make-up to conceal it. Same for Slipknot and Ghost. - Metal_Treasure

Nope, this shouldn't be here - Ananya

Unique in that they were the worst garage band in history to achieve fame and fortune, owing more to Madison Ave. than talent.

Only thing of them unique is make is the same - zxm

3 Disturbed Disturbed Disturbed is an American nu metal/ alternative rock/ alternative metal band from Chicago, Illinois. The band comprises vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren. They are known for songs like "Down With the Sickness" and "Stricken" .

@Rusty I'm not implying all Metal bands are satanic I have listened to metal Metallica, Black Sabbath and a bit of Judas Priest. I do know some bands try to be satanic but not all just calm down bro.

Sounds like every other generic wannabe Metal band I've ever heard but eh at least they don't try to be satanic.

If you're implying that all metal bands are satanic, you don't know/listen to metal. There is almost no satanic bands in history, bands like slayer, cannibal corpse, death, slipknot as examples aren't satanic. Now black metal talks about Satanism but most of those bands don't believe or support that, now Norwegian black metal is another story. - RustyNail

Generic, bland and boring enough said.

Linkin park has great musicians but there music isn't that unique.the only bands I'll say unique will be queen, beatles, the who, kinks, deep purple, the mothers of invention, blue oyster cult, ramones(yes they are unique because their music was different),pink floyd...etc - zxm

Wo,wo,wo,wo,wo calm down visitor,I am just giving my the way queen, pink floyd were unique, aren't they? cause you said nothing about them. - zxm

ZXM: Do you know the meaning of "unique? "--because you're misusing it. After their cover days, the Beatles approached uniqueness. The Who broke new ground along with the Kinks, but like the Beatles, they still were building upon what came before them. The Mothers were an updated version of Spike Jones...etc. Unique does not mean "different."

5 Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American alternative metal band, that was formed 1999 in California. Their longest lineup of members was M. Shadows (Vocals), Synyster Gates (Lead Guitar), Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar), Johnny Christ (Bass Guitar), and The Rev (Drums). more.

Avenged Sevenfold is your average boring modern Metal band with nothing unique or special about them.

Synyster Gates is hell of a guitarist, his solo of afterlife is very difficult and fast.and about matt shadows his voice is great.but its true that they are little bit overrated. - zxm

6 Ghost Ghost Ghost is a Swedish heavy metal band that was formed in Linköping in 2008. Not really unique.

The band is best known as one of the pioneers of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal during the late 1990s - 2000s and are distinguishable by the band's clothing choices, consisting of black/red jumpsuits and horror inspired masks. more.

Another generic wannabe Metal band with maybe 1 okayish song.

10 Alice Cooper Alice Cooper Alice Cooper was an American rock band formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1964. The band consisted of lead singer Vince Furnier, Glen Buxton, Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith.

In the early 70s, Cooper and company were about as close to unique as there was. Only somewhat similar act was fronted by Arthur Brown.

Alice Cooper isn't really unique the sound is replaceable and the singing's ok but not special or different.

"The sound is replaceable..." Maybe you mean "can be duplicated." Almost anything can be duplicated. But if you actually READ the comment, you'd have noticed it said "close to the early 70s."
If it were to be "replaced," that would be SUBSEQUENTLY, now wouldn't
It? And so, as stated, it was "close to unique" at. the. time. Capice? You really should try to pay better attention.

The Contenders

11 Three Days Grace Three Days Grace Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario in 1992 with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. Their original name was Groundswell until they changed it to their current name in 1997. more.

Might not be unique but still has relatable songs which is why I like TDG.

As much as I love Three Days Grace, I wouldn’t really call them unique. - 3DG20

12 The Doors The Doors The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore.

Nothing is unique about this band they sound like The Beatles mixed with The Rolling Stones

For once I agree with this one. The Doors were influenced by British bands like The Beatles, The Zombies etc... They certainly didn't invented a new style. You only hear that it is The Doors because of Jim Morrisson's voice, otherwise... (? )

"Beatles mixed with the Rolling Stones? " Get yourself to an audiologist. Hopefully, it's just ear wax.

13 AC/DC AC/DC AC/DC are a Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who continued as members until Malcolm's illness and departure in 2014 . They were fronted by Bon Scott until his untimely death due to alcohol poisoning in 1979, after which they hired Brian Johnson more.

ACDC isn't unique but they are good at playing with guitars I guess.

"They are good at playing with guitars, I guess." Seems all you can do is guess. AC/DC is immediately recognizable, which sets them apart from most bands. The word "unique" is often misused, as it is on this list. It means literally "one of a kind." Exclusive. NONE other exactly like it.
Can't think of ANY band from any era that qualifies. "Playing with guitars."
You're not a musician, are you?

I might not be a musician but I never said they were recognizable their quite generic. Being unique is having a original style something this band doesn't have. You claim it's being misused but it isn't, lastly So what if I said their good at playing with guitars. That's the only thing that makes up for them not being unique maybe you should think before you type, and I hope you stop arguing with me cause I've had enough all you do is try criticizing this list because of things I've said that aren't really aggravating. Now goodbye cause I got a life to fulfill.

"Being unique is having an original style...You claim it's being misused, but it isn't." By what authority do you think you can redefine words? Unique has a very specific meaning. It does NOT mean what you think it means. Moreover, no band has an "original style." Allowing for some degree of variation, EVERYTHING has been done before.

14 Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy is an American pop rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley.
15 The Beatles The Beatles The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented more.

IronSabbathPriest what about Revolver?

They made Rock music exist so their kinda unique and without them a lot of good Rock music wouldn't be relevant.

If you look at it, they were just one of the first boy bands. They just made music that was critically acclaimed and commercially successful. - SwagFlicks

I think Beatles is unique, they've played a lot of genres in that era.(my opinion) - zxm
