Saw them at Mayhem 2012, which was their first tour after Paul Grey died, and it was a very emotional performance in which they poured every ounce of energy, blood and sweat into one of the greatest sets ever performed.

Saw them at Rock on THE RANGE 2015 and just my god...they were absolutely phenomenal. Nobody could ever top them in my personal opinion.

Great band live, can't believe they score so low

They wear masks. Enough said.

Van Halen is top 5 five for sure in regards to live Bands and or Rock and Roll music in general for sure. Come on there is no doubt about it. Energy, great entertainment, and one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Awesome band!

Van Halen is better then ever right now. I mean how can they be only 40? There live sound is unbelievable! Eddie Van Halen has never been better, and with wolfgang singing the back up vocals, its just fabulous.

46 Motley Crue Motley Crue Mötley Crüe was an American metal band formed in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, lead vocalist Vince Neil and lead guitarist Mick Mars.

They're not always the flashiest live performers, but in each one of their live shows, they put so much emotion in their songs and they end up sounding better than pretty much any other band live. A live performance isn't all visual, you know. - LoganR93

The Prince of Darkness should be WAY HIGHER (On the list not drugs)

From bitimg bats heads off to mooning the crowd to playing ozzfest with a broken leg while detoxing. Ozzy would do anything for his fans and has also been around longer than anyone on this list evan led zepplin and queen and he's still going 1967-. Did anyone else do that? Plus hg can actually sing

49 Breaking Benjamin Breaking Benjamin

This description isn't needed, it's the foo fighters for gods sake! - TheDanSyndrome

This was my plan B since streetlight manifesto wasn't on here

This list sucks!
Full of idiots

52 Grateful Dead Grateful Dead

The Dead were truly in a league of their own. I have also seen many bands on this list and they had great shows but what made the dead unique was every show was completely different. They could do blues, bluegrass, jazz and rock and improvise like no other band to this day has even come close. They were intense and many nights I swore they would blow the windows out of the place. Truly in a league of their own. Check out dead and company with john mayer now. John gets Jerry and the band is on fire

The greatest live band in history...from 1967-1983 that is. No one in the audience would ever know which song was coming next. They had a MASSIVE catalogue of songs from which to select from. Talented enough to change and practise improv. nightly. They were just a fun, cool band and had some of the greatest, nicest and most pleasant fans around. Even the parking lots had some seriously fun parties night after night!

This isn't even a question. Everyone knows this whether your a dead head or not. They were the best live band ever and didn't even qualify as concerts. These were life changing "events" each and every one of the 2300+ shows. They have performed for more people than any other band EVER.. not even close.

There's just no comparison. When thet were on it's a whole other level of music. None of the bands discussed here could ever do what they did.

53 Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails is an American industrial rock/metal band and, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio.
54 Dave Matthews Band Dave Matthews Band Dave Matthews Band is an American rock band that was formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991. The founding members were singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews, bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer/backing vocalist Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore.

They are clearly the best band ever live. No other band can release live albums that sell millions then put them on a studio recording and sell more. The question is why are people so jealous of Dave Matthews popularity because he is for white males only. I forgot the band is mostly black, and he deserves the credit for driving his poetic message. 80 is a joke and he deserves better.

Not many bands can successfully deliver a different show every time. The Dave Matthews Band has successfully done this since their first show and continue to do it every time.

Dave Matthews Band is simply the best band ever to see live

DMB is definitely top ten for best live shows EVER! DMB will take you through a unique journey of old and new tunes and never cut it short of three hours. The solos and improvisations are played off the vibe of the crowd. Most concertgoers who see DMB live will likely be hooked as I was over two decades ago.

55 L'Arc~en~Ciel L'Arc~en~Ciel L'Arc-en-Ciel is a Japanese rock band, founded in Osaka in 1991. With a reported 40 million records sold, they were the first Japanese act to headline at Madison Square Garden.

Simply the best performance I've ever seen
They played even better than the album version
The sfx was great
The lighting and such were overwhelming
And they get along with the crowd well
Well, I almost lost words to describe their performance
If you don't believe me just check it out for yourself
