Bands Who Deserve a Self Titled Guitar Hero / Rock Band Game

All these bands deserve to have a self titled game the most. They've done a lot in their career and have a lot of songs suitable for GH or RB. This list does NOT include bands who already have a self themed GH or RB game.
The Top Ten
1 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted... read more

Although it will never happen due to Robert Plant not wanting to be remember for 1 song, Zeppelin still deserves one more than any other band. So many people listen to so many of they're songs. Stairway TO Heaven is arguably the biggest song of the 70's. They're the 4th biggest selling band of all time and people still wear the 1971 U. S. Tour t-shirts.

I've read that the reason why Led Zeppelin (my favourite band) songs are not even on one Guitar Hero is because Jimmy Page has said that if anyone wants to play the guitar, he has to buy a real one and to learn to play a real one
I completely agree

2 Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in London in 1970. The original lineup was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar, vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band... read more

They certainly have enough songs. They should make a Rock Band for them now! I love Queen and their legacy deserves a little... You know, help. Because some people still don't know who Queen is. And if ANY ONE adds Justin Beeper, I will destroy the world. Thanks

Very popular with some extremely famous songs, but also have enough guitar work to warrant a whole game. They have a "SingStar" game, but should have one of these too.

3 Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American funk-rock and alternative rock band, that was founded in 1983.

The band's members are Anthony Kiedis (Vocals), Michael "Flea" Balzary (Bass), Chad Smith (Drums) and numerous guitarists, most well-known being John Frusciante.

Everyone talks about "Thriller" and how it sold 50 million copies. Everyone says that no album is even close in sales to "Thriller". Apparently "everyone" forgets that "Back In Black", AC/DC's 1980 album sold 48 million copies and was the biggest selling album for 4 years. AC/DC is one of those trademark bands. A lot of people that listen to only pop, rap, country, etc have at least heard the name AC/DC and know they exist. That's pretty remarkable to be able to say that. But they're not just a famous name, they're one of the greatest bands of all time. Back In Black is one of the most recognizable guitar rifts ever and also one of the most commercially sucssesful Hard Rock songs ever. AC/DC is also one of only 2 bands to lose the original vocalist and be more successful with the 2nd vocalist.

7 The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. The first settled line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums)... read more

From 1964 on, THe Stones have always been one of the most popular Rock bands. They're combination of blues and punk-ish rock N' roll is very hard to pull off successfully, but they did it. Mick Jaggar is without a doubt the best preformer in music ever.

The Stones are legendary and they have a lot of great and diverse songs, so it would be very interesting to have a game about them.

This could be a nice counter to the Beatles Rockband. A long career and plenty of songs.

8 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band... read more

I'm not a big fan of Nirvana. My favorite genres are Hair Metal, Arena Rock, and Thrash Metal. Nirvana killed 2 of those and the other hasn't been the same since. Non-the-less Nirvana was very important band and had Kurt Cobain not died Nirvana could've easily been the next Beatles. They were a little of a cult type band; they had 4 or 5 big hits and every other song was considered a hit to they're die hard fans. Nirvana completely changed music and. 00's Rock and even 00's Pop is influenced by Nirvana's Grunge style of music.

9 Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band, that was formed 1999 in California. Their longest lineup of members was M. Shadows (Vocals), Synyster Gates (Lead Guitar), Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar), Johnny Christ (Bass Guitar), and The Rev (Drums)... read more

Known as "the most dangerous band of all time," GNR is a highly recognizable band. VH1 names "Welcome To The Jungle" as the #1 Hard Rock Song of all time. On that list are songs like "Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin" and "Walk This Way - Aerosmith," among others. To be #1 on that list is a great accomplishment. However, "Welcome To The Jungle" (#7) isn't even their highest charting song. "Sweet Child O' Mine" (#1), "Paradise City" (#5), and "November Rain" (#2) all charted higher. "Sweet Child O' Mine" is considered one of the greatest guitar songs of all time. "Rolling Stone" has "Welcome To The Jungle," "Sweet Child O' Mine," and "Paradise City" on its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

The Contenders

Peart passed away after a 3 year battle with brain cancer in January of... read more

Neil Peart is arguably the best songwriter of all time. He also has without a doubt the best drum set ever and Peart is referred to as the greatest drummer of all time more than any other drummer. Geddy Lee is also one of the if not the best bass player and he's a pretty good singer too. The 3 members of Rush are also the best musicians in a rock band, there is no one else who can preform songs easily with songs that go from 4 beats per measure to 6 bpm to 11 bpm to 2 bpm (cough* Tom Sawyer).

Well obviously Led Zeppelin would be the best, but because they would never agree to having their music in a Rock Band/Guitar Hero game, I think Rush is the next best thing.

14 Muse Muse are an English alternative rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The members are Matt Bellamy (lead vocal, lead guitar, piano, keyboard), Dom Howard (drums, percussion) and Chris Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals). 15 Megadeth Megadeth is an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. Megadeth was formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, shortly after Mustaine was fired from Metallica. They have released 15 studio albums to date, and have gone through many lineup changes, with Dave... read more

Part of the thing with Megadeth is singer/lead guitarist Dave Mustaine was the original Metallica guitarist and he quit to make his own band. Well ok... so what? The full story of it is Metallica has a self themed GH and Metallica's Kirk Hammet is looked at by a lot of people as better than Dave, but from what we've seen with "THis Day We Fight", "Sudden Death", and "Holy Wars... The Punishment DUe" (all by Megadeth) we can tell that Mustaine is the better guitarist, that of which he's been trying to prove for about 30 years unsuccessfully. A GH Megadeth would probably finally show who's the better guitarist (this is coming from a guy with 87 Metallica songs on his ipod)

16 Motörhead Motörhead were an English heavy metal band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, who was the sole constant member; guitarist and songwriter Larry Wallis; and drummer Lucas Fox. The band's harsh vocals and fast paced tempos helped inspire speed metal and... read more

19 Deep Purple Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertford in 1968. They are considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970. Deep Purple,... read more

DP is arguably more influential than Zeppelin and the Stones. Ritchie Blackmore inspired Yngwie Malmsteen, who some say is then greatest guitarist ever. He inspired me too but that's not important. It would defiantly be near impossible to play GH/RB Deep Purple cause of how good each member of the band is at the instrument they play

Deep Purple is (for me) by far the best band of all time. I think, they are very underrated, cause they've influenced a lot of musicians too. To hear "Child In Time, " "Highway Star, " "Speed King" and all the others is a pleasure for your ears, and should be heard by gods!
But that's just my opinion. ;)

20 Journey Journey is an American arena rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1973, composed of former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch.

Neal Schon is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. He's is in fact one of the very best. Then everyone knows that Steve Perry is one of the best singers, and Jonathan Cain and Steve Smith are some of the greatest keyboardists (Cain) and drummers (Smith) ever. Journey's labeled genre is Arena Rock, but they have been interpreted as being in a lot of different genres. Before Steve Perry came, they were a Fusion band. "Any Way You Want It" is on VH1's list of the 100 greatest Hard Rock songs of all time, and a lot of Hair Metal radio stations on iTunes play Journey songs. Journey is the only other band that has been more sucsseful with their 2nd vocalist than they're 1st.

21 The Jimi Hendrix Experience The Jimi Hendrix Experience was an English-American rock band that formed in Westminster, London, in September 1966. 23 Motley Crue Mötley Crüe is an American metal band formed in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, lead vocalist Vince Neil and lead guitarist Mick Mars.

Motley Crue is the reason that Hair Metal was the main genre in the 80's. They dominated the Sunset Strip and set a inspiration of clothing for the Hair Metal genre. Tommy Lee can plays his live drum solos in a cage that spins him upside down in a circle at a intense rate, and Lee still plays with accuracy and he never loses any ability to play.

Motley is the start of great hair metal.
They set an inspiration to bands to come.

24 Foo Fighters Foo Fighters are an American alternative rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. The band was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl after the death of Kurt Cobain and the dissolution of his previous band. The band consists of Dave Grohl (lead vocalist, rhythm guitar, main songwriter), Pat Smear (rhythm... read more

The Foos get many songs in Rock Band and Guitar Hero games like Everlong, This Is A Call, The Feast and The Famine and many others. I'm a really big fan of Foo Fighters and I really like Rock Band so I wish a day or another, Harmonix will rock on a Foo Fighters Rock Band or a Guitar Hero : Foo Fighters
