1 Fear Factory Fear Factory is an American industrial metal band that was formed in 1989. During the band's career, it has released nine full-length albums and has evolved through a succession of styles, including industrial metal, death metal, groove metal, and thrash metal.

Way heavier than Nu Metal and in general they're progressive metal not Nu Metal.

The Beastie Boys actually hated rock music.

Some may say Diabolus in Musica was somewhat Nu Metal inspired but that's one album out of the many of this band.

Alternative Metal suits them a lot more in my book.

5 Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine is a rap metal band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, bassist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello and drummer Brad Wilk.

They are political and rap a lot but that's not really a constitute of nu metal either. They're pretty much their own thing.

They might've had somewhat of a influence but they're not Nu Metal.

This band is post- grunge not Nu Metal. They have ZERO Nu Metal aspects and don't come remotely close.

Both this and Saint Asonia definitely don't qualify. I don't see Adam or Matt rapping a lot.

To be fair, Ivan Moody did come from Motograter, which was definitely a nu metal band.

Again Alternative Metal seems more accurate.
