Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, who have been active since 1994. Known for their ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi Birgisson's falsetto vocals, and the use of bowed guitar, the band's music is also noticeable for its incorporation of classical and minimalist aesthetic elements. How are they not number 1. They may not of been the first band to sing in their native language but they were the first non English singing band to be popular outside of their home country and became popular all over Europe Asia North and South America
This vote is for my brothers. They sing the German words and when I ask what they're saying, they shrug, look at me as if I've suddenly sprouted an extra head and say "I dunno, do I?! "
