Top 10 Bands Everyone Listens to but Eventually Grows Out Of

The Top Ten

1 Simple Plan Simple Plan is a French-Canadian rock band from Montreal, Quebec. The band has released five studio albums.

For a lot of people, Simple Plan is the quintessential "grow out from" band, there's a lot of people who like them at one point but after another they don't stick with them anymore
They are the poppiest of pop punk, while bands like MCR, Green Day, Sum 41, Blink-182 and even FOB had a lot of edge and personality in it, Simple Plan is just like the most family friendly "punk" band out there

2 Staind Staind was a Alternative Metal band formed in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1995. ...read more.

Similar case to Simple Plan
However Staind has some sense of edginess through their music (after all they are a nu metal band) however, from all the nu metal bands out there, Staind is by far the dullest and most generic from them all

3 Five Finger Death Punch Five Finger Death Punch, often shortened to Five Finger or Death Punch, also abbreviated as 5FDP or FFDP, is an American Alternative Metal/Alternative Rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2005, the band's name comes from the kung fu movie The Five Fingers of Death.

Started out okay just to give us the exact same album over and over again with the exact same type of lyrics and deliver

They might not be the worst post grunge band out there, but they are definitely the very first band I think when I heard the expression "all their songs sound the same"

5 Hoobastank Hoobastank is an American rock band, formed in 1994 in Agoura Hills, California with lead singer Doug Robb, guitarist Dan Estrin, drummer Chris Hesse, and original bassist Markku Lappalainen.

Get very big thanks to one hit "The Reason" and people kinda accepted them for that, however they just feel like a lite version of Incubus with Papa Roach + Sum 41 influence that doesn't really fit at all with the music, and doesn't make it really good

6 Good Charlotte Good Charlotte is an American rock band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed in 1996. Since 1998, the band's constant members have been lead vocalist Joel Madden, lead guitarist and vocalist Benji Madden, bassist Paul Thomas, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Billy Martin and drummer Dean Butterworth, ...read more.

Despite having a lot of defenders or people who just say "you know they have like... 1 or 2 good songs" Nickelback is not a band that people tend to hype with them

8 Papa Roach Papa Roach is an American rock band from Vacaville, California. Formed in 1993, their first major-label release was the triple-platinum album Infest.

Similar case to Hoobastank, got really popular but thanks to the lack of variety and new ideas, people just forgot about their existence

9 Limp Bizkit Limp Bizkit is an American nu metal band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1994. Their lineup consists of Fred Durst, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and Wes Borland.

They haven’t interested me since the first time I listened to them. Rollin’ is a decent, but other than that I don’t like them very much. There songs are either cringy, really bad or just mediocre at best.

Do I really need to explain this one?

10 New Found Glory

Similar case to Simple Plan and Good Charlotte
although Something personal that happened through lead guitarist Chad Guilbert back in 2017 can also speak about why people grow out of them

The Contenders

11 Lostprophets Lostprophets were a Welsh rock band from Pontypridd, Wales formed in 1997. Founded by lead vocalist and lyricist Ian Watkins, bassist Mike Lewis, drummer Mike Chiplin and guitarist Lee Gaze, they were originally a side-project to hardcore punk band Public Disturbance.

13 Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy is an American pop rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley.

Same case as Disturbed, although a lot of people hated them even before the "post hiatus" era, despite that they were still a group with a lot of fans thanks to their pop punk/emo pop style of music, style that they completely change by a mix between weird electro-rock and generic pop

14 30 Seconds to Mars Thirty Seconds to Mars (commonly stylized as 30 Seconds to Mars) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1998. The band currently consists of brothers Jared and Shannon Leto.

Same case as FOB, started out okay making alt rock but turned more and more into pop, at a point they weren't interesting enough for anyone
I also remember the time they were at the top 10 in the list "Best Bands of all time"

15 Skillet Skillet is an American Christian rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996 and based in the United States.
