Indeed. Their older music helped to evolve metal and push into the mainstream, hence becoming one of the figureheads of the NWOBHM movement in the early 80s. Luckily, unlike other pioneering bands, their music was at least good enough as well as developed and unique enough to stand on its own, and as such is still as fresh today as it was back then. This is especially true of their classic albums (Killers, Number Of The Beast), their great LPs (Powerslave, Somewhere In Time) & their brilliant singles (The Trooper, The Clairvoyant) from this period. - Mrveteran
