Lead singer and former wife to the frontman of Nirvana, Courtney Love's band Hole was a notable grunge/pop band from the 90's. In an interview, Kurt Cobain explained how him and Courtney Love helped each other when it came to music. They critiqued each others work while respecting each others musical taste.

Fred Durst and Wes Borland have said Nirvana was a huge influence. Fred especially has shown and proven that he is a huge fan of Cobain/Nirvana, he even has a portrait of Cobain tattooed on his chest. 'My Own Cobain' is a song off 2011's Gold Cobra. Since 2003 Limp Bizkit has constantly performed Nirvana cover's at their live shows, especially 2011 to 2015 they have played a Nirvana song at nearly every single show and Fred pays tribute to Kurt at literally hundreds of shows in the last 3 years. You can find a video on YouTube of Fred Durst visiting what was Cobain's house in Seattle, WA. Which is the same location where he was found dead in April 1994 having been murdered at sometime between April 3rd and early April 5th. Durst in the past made it known that he despises Courtney Love and has accused her of ordering the murder of Kurt Cobain, Courtney then went on an 'anti-Limp Bizkit' tirade after this incident for about a year or so in 2011/2012. Completely different genre of music, but you can hear the inspirations: "On the Edge" and "Final Day" sound far too Nirvana-esque for it to be a coincidence, and the "hey! " screaming in "Monsoon" resembles that from "Teen Spirit" or "Heart Shaped Box". - Martin_Canine
