The Top Ten
1 Three Days Grace
Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario in 1997 with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst.
Couldn't agree more. This band is all I've been listening to after being dumped a few weeks ago. So relatable. Everything from the lyrics to the sound in Adam Gontiers voice. Never knew how much this band could help you through a break up til recently.
Three Days Grace seems more worthy of first place to me. For one let me name some TDG breakup songs: I Hate Everything About You, Gone Forever, Bitter Taste, Over and Over, On My Own, Let It Die, Last to Know, Wake Up, Someone Who Cares, etc. I like Staind but when it comes to rock break up songs is theThree Days Grace king of modern rock break up songs. - BoredJeff02
Well 3DG isn't really broken, if give the new singer a chance he's not bad at all. Human was a test of what they could do.

Staind are very good at writing about the pain of life in general, which of course includes relationships. My personal favorites are Right Here, Tangled Up In You, and while they aren't necessarily breakup songs, you can never go wrong with Mudshovel or Raw. - AngryByrd

OK, so if you have never listened to any of Linkin Park's songs, let me tell you this: there is a lot of screaming. Like, a lot. From what I think, their song "A Place For My Head" probably has the most. Also, their songs are usually VERY DARK. For example, here is part of their song "Crawling": By the way, they're screaming during this part.
Crawling in my skin
These wounds, they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing what is real
And yes, I typed that from memory.
Just so you know, I'm not saying that Linkin Park is a bad band, they're actually really awesome! I'm surprised they're not is the top 10. - Zombi47

Adema have a lot of songs about relationships. In fact, nearly every song by these guys about some form of anger because of a relationship. It can get a bit annoying at times, but it works magic when you need something relatable. - AngryByrd

Good for anything, and they have very good emotional songs dealing with a different sort of break up... the Rev dying. This makes them a great choice for dealing with break ups. Just listen to "So Far Away" if you're sad or "Little Piece of Heaven" if you're on the angrier side of things. - Koby_02
