Of course these bands aren't screamo. The author is right - screamo is a version of emo, which is basically a punk-based subgenre. Screamo is nowhere near metal and employing screaming vocal technique by metal bands doesn't mean screamo. But screamed vocals don't mean metal either and whether these bands are metal is debatable. Screamed vocals are currently used in so many different (sub)genres. - Metal_Treasure
