Top 10 Bands People Consider Screamo that Aren't

These bands aren't screamo just because Metal has screaming doesn't make these bands screamo bands. Screamo is a punk subgenre not a metal genre.

1 Three Days Grace Three Days Grace is a Canadian post-grunge/alternative rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario in 1992 with a line-up consisting of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. Their original name was Groundswell until they changed it to their current name in 1997. In 2003, the band's current guitarist Barry Stock was recruited to the band. In 2013 Gontier left the band due to creative differences. He was replaced with Brad's brother Matt Walst.

Of course these bands aren't screamo. The author is right - screamo is a version of emo, which is basically a punk-based subgenre. Screamo is nowhere near metal and employing screaming vocal technique by metal bands doesn't mean screamo. But screamed vocals don't mean metal either and whether these bands are metal is debatable. Screamed vocals are currently used in so many different (sub)genres.

Hard Rock, Post- Grunge, Alternative Rock, Alternative Metal but not Screamo.

If you think this is screamo, then you obviously have no idea what screamo is.
