Probably the only band on this list (so far) that never made steps towards it. I would lose faith in humanity if they do it.
They have softer songs but they are either prog rock of folk-ish prog rock, or just acoustic ballads that have no pop cliches in them. Blind Guardian don't even have hard rock songs.
And of course, there's no rap/groove, disco, electronic, blues, etc. in their discography.
No signs of going pop (based on 33 years of making metal) but... you never know. I only hope they will never make a pop song. - Metal_Treasure

Unfortunately, they already did several poppy rock songs. Listen to their albums "Point of Entry" or "Turbo", several songs are really poppy on these albums.
