Top Ten Bands that Should Never Make a Pop Song
Title says it all.If any of these bands make a pop song, it would be absolutely awful.

1 Blind Guardian
Blind Guardian is a German power metal band formed in the mid-1980s in West Germany. They are often credited as one of the seminal and most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Heavily influenced by Queen, they use the technique of overdubbing. They also incorporate large amounts of orchestral arrangements. Hansi Kürsch creates a huge choir effect by overdubbing his own voice multiple times in complex, overlapping harmonies. Thanks to overdubs and numerous backing vocals Blind Guardian stand out with a very dense sound.

I would lose faith in humanity if they do it.
They have softer songs but they are either prog rock of folk-ish prog rock, or just acoustic ballads that have no pop cliches in them. Blind Guardian don't even have hard rock songs.
And of course, there's no rap/groove, disco, electronic, blues, etc. in their discography.
No signs of going pop (based on 33 years of making metal) but... you never know. I only hope they will never make a pop song.

Judas Priest are a British heavy metal band that formed in Birmingham, England, in 1969. They are often referred to as one of the greatest metal bands of all time, and are even commonly called “The Metal Gods”, after one of the songs on their 1980 album “British Steel”.
They are known for several of their hit songs, which include “Painkiller”, “Breaking The Law”, You’ve Got Another Thing Coming”, and “Turbo Lover”.
Their original lineup consisted of Al Atkins (vocals), K.K. Downing (lead/rhythm guitar), Ian Hill (bass), and John Ellis (drums). Atkins never recorded on any Judas Priest releases, but contributed to several songs. ...read more.

Unfortunately, they already did several poppy rock songs. Listen to their albums "Point of Entry" or "Turbo", several songs are really poppy on these albums.

They did make a Country Rock song "Mama Said" however that turned out to be the best country song ever made if you were to ask me. Plus it still sounds like something Metallica would do.

They have their fair share of pop songs. Mostly on Falling Into Infinity, the Astonishing, and the self titled album.
They have a song with James LaBrie rapping on it... Rap isn't exactly pop but it's part of the popular music

Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (Drums), their most notable drummer, passed away in 2009, being temporarily replaced by Mike Portnoy, who was replaced by Arin Ilejay, who was finally replaced with Brooks Wackerman. A common phrase for fans "foREVer" was created after the Rev's death in his remembrance. ...read more.

Most of their songs have really poppy parts (with cliches from pop music), and some songs have country tunes, so... they kinda did it already.

The name of the band comes from famous sex symbol Marilyn Monroe and famous criminal Charles Manson. Manson joined these two names together because he wanted a name combined with good (Monroe) and evil (Manson). The other members of the band have their stage names combined with the first names of famous sex symbols and the last names of famous serial killers.

Unfortunately they sort of did with Risk it wasn't pure pop but it had disco beats in it.
