Bands that Shouldn't Be on the List "Best Female Fronted Metal Bands"

This is one of the most messed up metal lists on this site. As of November 2018, there are 293 listings and too many of them aren't metal.
The Top Ten
1 Evanescence Evanescence is an American alternative rock/alternative metal band. It was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

The Top Christian Metal Bands list is also quite messed up with Red and Skillet being in the top ten.

Not even close to metal. People think they're metal because of the heavy guitars sometimes.

It is right there in the description

"Evanescence is an American rock band..."

2 Halestorm Halestorm is an American hard rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Lzzy Hale, her brother drummer and percussionist Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bassist Josh Smith.

People should just read the description for the band.

"Halestorm is an American rock band..."

It is like if a rock band is loud it is automatically considered metal

Not a metal band at #7

3 In This Moment In This Moment is an American alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed by singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth in 2005. They found drummer Jeff Fabb and started the band as Dying Star.

More a pop metal band which isn't true metal

Not a metal band at #8.

4 Kittie Kittie is a Canadian nu-metal/alternative metal band that was formed in London, Ontario, in 1996. They have released six studio albums, one video album, four extended plays, thirteen singles, and thirteen music videos.

Not a metal band at #10. I perfectly understand why they aren't on the Metal Archives / Encyclopaedia Metallum (i.e. not considered metal).

5 The Pretty Reckless

Not a metal band at #12

6 The Birthday Massacre The Birthday Massacre is a Canadian dark wave and synth rock band currently consisting of Chibi (vocals), Rainbow (guitar), Falcore (guitar), Owen (keyboard), Rhim (drums) and Nate Manor (bass), that formed in 1999 (even though the 2016 demo collection "Imagica" dates some tracks back at 1998). 7 Sleeping With Sirens Sleeping with Sirens is an American rock band from Orlando, Florida currently residing in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The band currently consists of Kellin Quinn, Gabe Barham, Jack Fowler, Nick Martin, and Justin Hills.

What? Not a female fronted band. Not metal either. At #55 out of 300.

8 Jinjer
9 Amaranthe Amaranthe is a Swedish heavy metal band notable for having three lead vocalists: Elize Ryd, Jake E. Lundberg, and Henrik Englund Wilhemsson, each presenting a different vocal style. Their second album, The Nexus, reached 6th on Swedish charts, 4th on Finnish charts, and reached a peak of 12th on the US Heatseekers charts . They are coming out with a new album October 21st, 2016.

They use some metal elements but not enough to be called metal. They are more like a pop band with something heavy here and there.
They aren't on the Metal Archives.
#17 is too high for a band like this.

This is more of a pop metal band, and pop metal bands just don't count has a true metal band

10 Iwrestledabearonce Iwrestledabearonce (often stylized in all lowercase) was an American metalcore band formed in 2007 in Shreveport, Louisiana. In their nine years together, they released one EP, four full-length albums, and two remixed releases.

This feels like a mainstream band trying to be metal with screaming

Not a metal band

The Contenders
11 Butcher Babies
12 Vixen

Hard rock, not metal (#57)

13 Lee Aaron Lee Aaron is a Canadian rock and jazz singer. She had several hits in the 1980s and early 1990s such as "Metal Queen", "Whatcha Do to My Body" and "Sex with Love".

I like her but she sings hard rock and jazz, not metal. And her 80s hit "Metal Queen" is pure hard rock, despite the title with the word "metal" in it.
She is at #102 on that list which isn't very high, so she isn't high on my list because not many people make this mistake.

14 Kobra and the Lotus Kobra and the Lotus is a Canadian heavy metal band formed in 2009 by lead vocalist and songwriter Kobra Paige.

TROLL item. They ARE a metal band and they ARE on the Metal Archives / Encyclopaedia Metallum.
And they are pretty good.

15 Nightwish Nightwish is a symphonic metal band from Kitee, Finland. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and lead singer Tarja Turunen. It's currently formed by Tuomas, Emppu, lead vocalist Floor Jansen, bassist and vocalist Marco Hietala, multiinstrumentist and vocalist Troy Donockley, and drummer Jukka Nevalainen (currently on hiatus and replaced by Kai Hahto).

Hard rock Symphony? Sure! Heavy Metal? Hell no! Unless you want Heavy Metal to sleep to!

16 Flyleaf Flyleaf is an American rock band formed in Bell County, Texas, in 2002. The band has charted on mainstream rock, Christian pop and Christian metal genres.
