There are prime examples of this: "TNT", "Jailbreak", and "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"; "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pullution"; and everything with the 12 bar blues riff to name a few. They use the minor pentatonic scale and power chords for all of their songs and write about the same stuff. Like I said, I like AC/DC, they just sound the same.
Pretty much the first band that comes to mind. Aside from their best songs like Back in Black, Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell, once you've listened to these, you've listened to them all. Their sound barely ever changed. They have some hidden gems hidden in their albums though.

I don't understand how this band gets all the love they get. Every song is generic hard rock at it's most boring. And It's hard to distinguish one song from another. Do us a favor BB...change it up a bit
It's untrue. The last two albums sound different from the others , and their tracks are different even in the previous works

Disturbed is an American alternative metal/nu-metal/hard rock band from Chicago, Illinois. I like some of Disturbed's songs, but their songs sound WAY too much the same, like, how can you not say that both Down with the Sickness and Ten Thousand Fists has very similar sounding riffs?
I love me some Disturbed but the vocal riffs in more than a few songs sound a tad too similar to one another.
Disturbed hasn't changed much over the years, in any aspect, but their songs usually sound different.

Terrible excuse for a metal band! Toolheads have the audacity to compare their beloved, unimaginative, soulless band with Pink Floyd - truly an abominable attitude! All of their songs uses the same formula of endless repetition of recycled riffs and grating sounds of pots and pans accompained by random robotic noises in the background. Their music is like an overbloated bag of unhealthy chips - zero substance! Overstretching 3 minute songs by stuffing useless and boring fillers to create illusion of musical progression.
Rage Against the Machine is a rap metal band formed in Los Angeles, California. The band consists of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, bassist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello and drummer Brad Wilk. I love this band, but you have to admit that their style, at least in their original albums, is very predictable and to-the-point. RatM have such a recognizable style because most of their songs share so many of the same features, formulas, themes, etc. I think of it like a lifetime supply of chocolate. It's hella good, but you know what you're gonna expect.
This is coming from someone who hasn't listened to Renegades yet, by the way.
They're great but their songs sound pretty similar, since their themes and feeling are similar.

All of them are basically growling, generic fast riffs, fast drumming, and similar lyrics. There isn't a single song that sounds very diverse for this band. Not saying it out of hate, but as facts
I think Dying Fetus almost fits this more; though I love both bands

I'm not a Slayer fan by any means, but the reason people think their songs all sound the same is either that they aren't used to extreme metal, or that they compare them to the other three of the big four who have jumped on any trend in the 1990s.
Show No Mercy has an NWOBHM vibe but faster, I wouldn't even consider it thrash metal rather than speed metal. Hell Awaits is significantly heavier, has more complexly structured song (possibly the peak of the band's songwriting), the vocals are also less clean and the 1980s sounding reverbed production of the debut is gone. Reign in Blood can be described as Hell Awaits without any complexity and system, I honestly believe it has hardly anything to show apart from its heaviness. South of Heaven almost never leaves mid-pace territory and has some almost clean vocals. Even though I think they are overpraised to the max, I can't deny their first four albums all showcase a different brand of thrash metal.
Then they have a few Slipknot sounding songs which also don't help the people who voted for them

A lot of Nirvana songs have gibberish lyrics followed by a occasional grunt or scream. And with average guitar playing, decent singing but yeah definitely sounds the same to me.

At least Three Days Grace actually starts their songs off with normal singing before the screaming parts happen. But with Bring Me The Horizon not so much, they scream as soon as a song starts, and unlike TDG don't have a good guitar player, drummer, bass player or singer. Overall a very terrible band of the 2000's that doesn't put any EFFORT into their music.
