Top Ten MLB Speedsters

The best fast shortstops, center fielders, and second-basemen.
The Top Ten
1 Rickey Henderson

He's the base running king. He's number 1.

Has the most stolen bases ever in Major League Baseball History, So good he has stolen from home 1 time

2 Ichiro Suzuki Ichiro Suzuki, often referred to mononymously as Ichiro, is a Japanese former professional baseball outfielder.

Ichiro is the fastest guy out on the field! I'll be sad when he leaves, because he's the only one in the Mariner's dugout who can consistently connect with the ball and get it where there are no players... And he's the fastest outfielder on the team!

Ichiro is my favorite player but I'm sad because he is on the yankees who I hate

3 Lou Brock

I had the pleasure of watching Lou Brock play. He was by far the fastest player in his day. Real sweet to watch him steal a base or two. Only player I have ever seen steal home multiple times. I know there were others but I only saw Lou actually do it. Sad to hear that he has lost a leg due to complications of Diabetes. Thanks Lou for playing the game and giving me some timeless memories.

4 Cool Papa Bell

Never saw him play but the stories of his speed are legendary. Satchel Paige once said of his speed that Cool Papa "could turn the light switch off and be in bed before the lights went out." He must have been something else to see.

5 Jose Reyes
6 Jackie Robinson Jack Roosevelt Robinson was an American professional baseball player who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era.
7 Willie Wilson
8 Derek Jeter Derek Sanderson Jeter is an American former professional baseball shortstop, current businessman and baseball executive who is the chief executive officer and part owner of the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball.

Jeter is the slickest there is in the game and is the best at what he does.

9 Maury Wills
10 Vince Coleman
The Contenders
11 Deion Sanders Deion Luywnn Sanders, Sr. is a former American football and former American baseball player, who works as an analyst for CBS Sports and the NFL Network.
12 Jacoby Ellsbury

3 50 steal seasons now. Ichiro has 1. Jeter has never reached 40 steals. For the past 5 years Reyes hasn't gone over 40. From a steals point of view, Ellsbury beats the top 3 on this list.

13 Torii Hunter
14 Hanley Ramirez

He's a beast in baseball and also my favorite!

15 Billy Hamilton

He has a hard time getting on base, but once he is, he creates havoc for the defense with his speed. Not only that, but with his speed, he catch fly balls like no other outfielder, thus he also leaves cleat marks on the outfield walls where he catches, and push off the wall throwing the ball into the infield all in one go.

16 Alfonso Soriano
17 Chase Utley Chase Cameron Utley is an American former professional baseball second baseman who played in Major League Baseball.
18 Brett Gardner

Brett Gardner has speed. Way faster than Jeter. He can field to. If he was a better batter, he'd be great.

Granderson knocks him out of the depth chart, but he's got potential

19 Brendan Ryan
20 Bartolo Colon
21 Ben Revere
22 Byron Buxton
23 Joe Morgan
24 Dee Gordon
25 Dustin Pedroia
