Although getting up there in age and slowed down offensively by the time the 1970's rolled around, elderly Wilt was still the best rebounder of the 70's, and for that matter, "Grandpa" Wilt was still a better rebounder than anybody else- ever.
Even during his final year in the NBA, he managed to set the unofficial single game blocked shot record with 26 blocks in a game. Also famously blocked Kareem's supposedly unblockable skyhook TWICE IN A ROW during the 4th quarter of a key playoff game.
