Best Bass Amp Brands

The Top Ten
1 Gallien-Krueger

It's the best for me

It's the first

2 Ampeg

Ampeg is the steak and potatoes of bass amplification. Or better still the Cadillac of bass amps. The SVT will rock the walls with ball busting bass. I have played Carvin... Hartke... Peavey... SWR... gentz Benz... Fender... And Warwick. I want my bass to have balls! The biggest balls on the block belong to the pitbull of amplification... Ampeg! '

Got a Ampeg BA115 and its brilliant. Always got good tone control and a diverse tone range. It has guts to it.

After owning 5 bass heads I finally found the match for me.
Had my SVT for three years. I play through it daily. Perfect so far.

Ampeg is the only bass amp.

3 Hartke

Great sound at a great price. Over 20 years with Hartke without a hitch. Must add that Ampeg runs neck and neck.

Great amp. Love it

4 Peavey

Peavey make fantastic bass amps.

5 Trace Elliot
6 Orange
7 Fender

Use a bssmn 800 with 2 cabs for large venues, fender rumble 200 for smaller venues.

Great for most gigs

8 Laney
9 Ashdown

Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, System of a Down... says it all really. Real amps for real bands.

10 TC Electronic

John Paul Jones plays TC Electronic bass rig. He's the man!

Great piece of kit.

The Contenders
11 MarkBass

Just the best compact bass combos, at any price.

Just exceptional in every way to be honest.

The CMD102P. You try finding another 300w bass combo that weighs 17Kg and that delivers a clean punchy sound.

12 Mesa Boogie

Great tone... What else can I say. Absolutely amazing.

13 Eden

Love the rich, tube/preamp tone.
Great power. I liked it much better than my Ampeg, although Ampeg had more power.

The most satisfying tone I have ever had the pleasure of using.

14 Aguilar

One of the best. Made by bass players for bass players.

15 Acoustic
16 Warwick

Kicks metal as. One of the best.

17 Behringer
18 Marshall
19 SWR
20 Line 6
21 Phil Jones
22 Genz Benz
23 Randall
24 Roland

Don't know how they are now to be honest, but I've got a Supercube Bass 100 from the 80s with a 15" woofer that kicks some serious butt, particularly for its size...

25 Traynor

Kick ass Canadian made bass amps and cabs. Tough, well built, fairly priced. Made in Canada.
