Best Bassists With Lead Vocals

The Top Ten

1 Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer) Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer)

He should be higher. He is Blue Cheer. Should be in the top 2 at least. He is what makes Blue Cheer and Blue Cheer keep going after the other members from the first 2 albums of the band left. If you like Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple a lot and are your top favorites than Blue Cheer should too and he should be on the top of list sense he made Blue Cheer. Rock will always be better than Metal, Punk, Roots rock and Experimental rock. If you agree with than too than Blue Cheer should really be on your top best artists list. - BlueFuse

Hmm, yes he's good. But Les Claypool, Sumon, Geddy Lee are also awesome. Especially Les Claypool and Sumon. Les Claypool has awesome slapping techniques. And Sumon can play bass guitar with his teeth. That's why I added them before him. - zxm

I know those types of Rock music is Rock too. Rock just have better top artist than those types of Rock music. If those artists have nothing on the best artists of The Who, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and the Beatles than the same should be said with Blue Cheer. Blue Cheer should be treated just like those artists. It just that Blue Cheer is not very known. Blue Cheer have the same feel as those artists. Even though Rush and Primus did have something against Blue Cheer, Sumon as a solo artist or his band Aurthohin would not. Rush follow Blue Cheer. I know that does not matter but I am just saying. Blue Cheer was one of the first of its kind. Rush is a power trio, have a bassist with lead vocals, and both plays hard which is how Blue Cheer follows Rush. - BlueFuse

(Sighs), he's very good but never expected him to see on top. - zxm

@BlueFuse, yes rock is the best genre. But Punk, Roots Rock, Prog rock, Experimental rock are also rock. And Blue Cheer were psych, blues, hard rock. Which are also rock. - zxm

I love him, a good kind hearted man with so much talent and beauty.

This man could sing the phone book and make you believe it had incredible impact... He was the perfect vehicle for Ric Ocasek's lyrics. He could be sexy, snarky, or crooning while leading you along with his melodic bass lines. We love you and miss you, Benjamin! #BenjaminOrr #neverenough
