Most Beautiful Progressive Rock Songs

The Top Ten

1 Time - Pink Floyd

Time is the best song from the best album of all time, The Dark Side of the Moon. The guitar solo is awesome and it is a musical masterpiece. I loved this song the moment I heard it. - ShiviDIVI

2 Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd

Amazing song by Pink Floyd, the guitar solos are awesome. Besides it is a very well written song. Comfortably Numb is extremely addictive and epic. It is my favourite Pink Floyd song. I just love this song. The most beautiful Classic Rock and Progressive Rock song of all time. - ShiviDIVI

The guitaring of this song is also very good, I love this song also. Wish You Were Here is a really nice song. It is truly a beautiful song. If you ever miss anyone you should play this song. - ShiviDIVI

4 Echoes - Pink Floyd

The most unique rock song of all time, Echoes is a beautiful song as well. - ShiviDIVI

5 Another Brick In the Wall - Pink Floyd

This has to be Pink Floyd's most overrated song. While it is indeed a good one, it's not even close to some of their more prog-type songs, like Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, SYD, and A Saucerful of Secrets.

The first Pink Floyd song I heard, it is the most rebellious rock song. Another Brick In The Wall is the second best song in the album The Wall. This song showed that Pink Floyd can expand its boundaries. - ShiviDIVI

Saw your remix. You clearly don't know anything about prog.

6 Money - Pink Floyd

Even non - Pink Floyd fans love Money. The jingle of the song is good and the bass guitar playing by Roger Waters is amazing. - ShiviDIVI

7 Hey You - Pink Floyd

Like Comfortably Numb and Time, Hey You also has a great guitar solo. The song is about a man named Pink who builds metaphorical walls around himself from society and he is trying to break free. - ShiviDIVI

8 Dogs - Pink Floyd
9 Octavarium - Dream Theater
10 The Musical Box - Genesis

The Contenders

11 Firth of Fifth - Genesis

A lot of these songs are great but "beautiful" doesn't really describe them. This masterpiece, on the other hand, not only defines the band Genesis as well as the entire genre of progressive rock with its incredible musicianship and melodic feel, but also perfectly fits the description of being a "beautiful" song without being cheesy.

12 Close to the Edge - Yes
13 Arriving Somewhere but Not Here - Porcupine Tree

This song goes very well with Money, Brain Damage is one of Pink Floyds best songs. Brain Damage is a very good song. - ShiviDIVI

17 Shine on You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd made this song in the memory of their founder, Syd Berrett. All the parts of the song are beautiful and it is thirteen minutes of amazing music. - ShiviDIVI

26 Watcher of the Skies - Genesis
27 The Gates of Delirium - Yes
28 The Great Gig In the Sky - Pink Floyd
29 Ocean Gypsy - Renaissance

Really beautiful but sad track by Renaissance

30 East Coast Racer - Big Big Train

This is a beautiful song about the Mallard and all the people who built her. I wish my dad was still alive because he was mad about trains and he would have loved this track. It starts off with the men building the train, and the second part is the Mallard racing through the English countryside at "Two miles a minuit". Dave Longdon has a wonderful voice, he sounds a bit like Seal, and the whole band blends into really beautiful bloky harmony.
