I add this as a comment, because it wasn't published as a reply:

To be precise, what was a sample from an obscure orchestral version of The Last Time (by Andrew Oldham Orchestra) became, with the help of very good lawyers, a goldmine for the Stones. After he had to sell his rights as lyricist for a thousand dollars (it was that or they had to take it out of the shops), Richard Ashcroft commented "This is the best song Jagger and Richards have written in 20 years".

I really appreciate your lists and your knowledge Metal_Treasure, plus you made me discover really nice stuff, but here I think that the word "ripoff" is a bit much, for what is the most lucrative sample in history. - Lotuscandy

Unfortunately this is a ripoff song and a lawsuit credited it back to The Rolling Stones. - Metal_Treasure

51 Love Conquers All - Deep Purple
52 A Past and Future Secret - Blind Guardian
53 Aqueous Transmission - Incubus

This song uses Chinese and Japanese instruments which give it an exotic feel. It's very pretty and relaxing. One of my brother's favorite songs. - eventer51314

54 The Universal - Blur
55 Lovesong - The Cure
56 Purity - New Model Army
57 Northern Star - Hole

Written by Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson, it's from 1998's Celebrity Skin album.
It is believed to be about Kurt Cobain, and I think it's the case, I can really hear her suffering and anger in this one. She gets me every time when she starts screaming, so much emotion in those screams, I hear it as a "widow song".
I saw a live version on Youtube (she wears a white dress, on a little intimate stage with dark background) which is more raw and even more heartbreaking. - Lotuscandy

58 Interlude - Morrissey & Siouxsie

When the talents of two incredible artists collide, it results in a breathtaking duet. - Lotuscandy

59 Down by the Water - PJ Harvey
60 Philadelphia - Neil Young

Each time I watch the movie, I can almost hold my tears till the end, and when this song begins, I can't resist anymore... - Lotuscandy
