Best Beirut Songs

Zach Condon's best work over a span of 5EP's and 3LP's.

The Top Ten

1 Elephant Gun

So magnificent, so unique... Without a doubt Beirut's sweetest song - and in my opinion, their best.

One of my favorite songs of all time and the second Beirut song I ever heard and arguably one of their best of all time

2 Postcards from Italy

My favorite song that makes me nostalgic every time I hear it... Also the sole reason why I bought a ukelele... I hope one day to sing this to someone who I love

This song is majestic...

3 Nantes

The most simple yet perfect song I can imagine...

4 Santa Fe

2nd Best on the Riptide. Has a pop folk feel to it

5 East Harlem

Best on the Riptide. One of the most melodically perfect composition I have ever heard blending ukelele, piano, and horns all into one masterpiece

6 The Penalty

Too short to capture its uniquely designed melodies

I love this one

7 A Candle's Fire

Easily one of the best on the Riptide album next to Sante Fe and East Harlem.. A little short but sweet with horns and horns

8 The Gulag Orkestar

The very first Beirut song I ever heard.

9 La Llorona

One that might not be on others lists but definitely a badass song that makes me think of a western standoff

10 My Night With the Prostitute from Marseille

Amazing melody that I listened to endlessly

The Contenders

11 Carousels

This one grew on me after awhile... Definitely not Beiruts best but worth mentioning.

12 Rhineland (Heartland)
13 The Concubine

One of their best songs

14 Ederlezi

Not my first choice but a very overlooked song by Beirut. It creates a profoundly unique atmosphere with its catchy melody and minimal vocals.
