Hungarian alternative is the alternative music scene of Hungary. It embraces many bands from different subgenres. The most notable Hungarian alternative rock bands include Európa Kiadó, Sexepil, C.A.F.B., Kispál és a Borz and Quimby. The most well-known Hungarian indie bands are Amber Smith, The Moog, EZ Basic. Hungarian dark rock bands include Nulladik Változat, Land of Charon and Garden of Eden. The most widely known alternative metal bands are The Idoru and Shell Beach.

1 Kispál és a Borz

Kispál és a Borz was a Hungarian alternative rock band. Founded in 1987 in Pécs, starting members were András Lovasi, András Kispál, Rezső "zdi and Gábor Bräutigam. Their last concert took place on 9 August 2010 at Sziget Festival. [1] The group is still regarded as one of the most influential alternative bands in the country.

2 Ákos

Ákos Kovács, born in Budapest, 6 April 1968, is a Hungarian pop-rock singer-songwriter. He is known for his solo career writing and performing serious, poetic pop songs, as well as a member of the now defunct group Bonanza Banzai. Kovács uses his given name, Ákos, in his career. His name is written Akosh, to reflect the Hungarian pronunciation, when his music is distributed to English-speaking countries. His songs are on the top lists of Hungarian music. [1]

Amber Smith are a Hungarian indie rock band based in Budapest, Hungary formed in 2000 by Imre Poniklo. The band's current line-up is Imre Poniklo (vocals, guitars), Oszkár Ács (bass), and Bence Bátor (drums). Amber Smith are one of the most notable bands from the Budapest indie music scene along with The Moog, EZ Basic and Yonderboi. The band's third studio album, RePRINT, was critically acclaimed and their song Hello Sun helped the band sign with the German major indie label, Kalinkaland records.
