The Top Ten
1 Wolf The wolf (Canis lupus), also known as the gray or grey wolf, is a large canine native to Eurasia and North America. Over thirty subspecies of Canis lupus have been recognized, with gray wolves comprising the wild subspecies. As the largest extant member of the Canidae family, the wolf is distinguished... read more

This animal is not only my favorite animal, but it's also my favorite thing to draw because you can have it any way you want. Anything you do to a drawing may make it unique and interesting, but when you add on to wolves, they stay beautiful and cool at the same time. Also, if you look up anime wolves, it will come up with the coolest add-ons for wolves that you will ever see, like wings or magic! Wolves are just fascinating to draw for me, and I absolutely love drawing them!

I love to draw wolves. I like to draw other animals, but I would have to go with the wolf because they're so majestic. You can draw so many packs and so many expressions to choose from. They're so loyal to each other! I like to draw pictures of a wolf helping out a fellow wolf. Anyway, you people that haven't voted, choose what you like, but remember there's always a spot here for a fellow wolf lover.

2 Cat The cat (Felis catus) is a domestic species of small carnivorous mammal.
It is the only domesticated species in the family Felidae and is often referred to as the domestic cat to distinguish it from the wild members of the family. A cat can either be a house cat, a farm cat or a feral cat; the latter... read more

Cats are relatively easy animals to draw. The only difficulty when starting out, if you are a beginner, is getting the body shape and legs correct. Because they are so flexible, it can be rather difficult to master. I suggest you start with an animal that has a similar body shape but is easier to memorize (a snake for example, because of their flexibility). You could even draw out the bones in lines to master the position you will be drawing the most. Cats are still a great beginner animal, and I suggest trying it out!

3 Dragon A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures.

In the past 4 years, my dragon drawing skills, including anatomy, detail, originality, poses, and movement, went from being extremely terrible to being amazing. I love drawing them so much! I'm actually drawing one right now. It's actually a horse/dragon hybrid though, but still a dragon.

Dragons are such mystical and beautiful creatures that drawing them is so fun and awesome in the end result! I have drawn a ton of dragons so far, and I love every single one. I love it so much that I want you to try it!

4 Dog The dog or domestic dog (Canis familiaris or Canis lupus familiaris) is a domesticated descendant of the wolf, and is characterized by an upturning tail. The dog is derived from an ancient, extinct wolf, and the modern wolf is the dog's nearest living relative. The dog was the first species to be domesticated,... read more

I love dogs so much, and drawing them is really fun! It is really easy to draw a dog simply, but also if you choose a more complex dog, it is even better! I definitely recommend drawing a dog for everyone!

The only thing I can draw that's on this entire list... How pathetic am I? I can't even draw it that well. Well, have fun. They aren't always easy. (I can only draw the same kind of thing over and over.)

When I was little, all I did was draw dogs. It's cool because they can convey almost any feeling, and you can easily tell!

5 Fox Foxes are small to medium sized animals and belong to the Canidae family along with other animals such as jackals, wolves, and domestic dogs. There are 37 species of fox but only 12 are considered true Vulpes. A fox's prey is small mammals, birds, reptiles, frogs, eggs, insects, worms, fish, crabs,... read more

Foxes are just such beautiful animals, so why not draw them? I have drawn so many foxes by now. I enjoy it more and more every time I draw one! I honestly really think everyone should try it!

Foxes are the best thing to start on, I think, because they have so many different poses and expressions. You could spend hours mastering the fox... or simply a few minutes.

Foxes have an element of solitude, cleverness, curiosity, and playfulness that gives you so many choices of how to pose them. They are very elegant and beautiful.

6 Snake Snakes are elongated, limbless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes. Like all other squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Many species of snakes have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey... read more

Ok, why is everyone saying they are easy?! To all of you saying they are easy, try to draw specific species of snakes, with a particular pattern or morph. Try to draw a Green Tree Python, a Boa Constrictor (BCC or BCI), a Bush Viper, a banded sea krait, and a Kingsnake. All have quite different features, so I challenge you to draw them! It isn't easy. They have different scales, different eyes, different bodies, different patterns, different head shapes, and more!

Snakes look really cool and aren't too difficult to draw. They're actually quite fun to draw once you know how.

7 Horse The horse is an odd-toed, hoofed mammal of the taxonomic family Equidae whose sole major subspecies (Equus ferus caballus) is a domesticate, although wild subspecies have survived into the modern period. All subspecies, including the two extant ones, descend from the Pleistocene Equus ferus. The horse... read more

I've always loved horses since age three. A boy horse under 4 years old is a colt, and a boy horse over 4 years old is called a stallion. A girl horse under 4 years old is a filly, and one over 4 years is a mare. Horses are naturally hard to draw. I have drawn horses forever, and I am now skilled at drawing one. All you have to do is get a How to Draw Horses book at the library, and you'll be a master in no time!

I also wish horses were number one on the list.

I love horses! I love drawing them. They're also fun to ride. I am very good at both drawing and riding. I just love them - they're so cute, soft, and cuddly. I used to ride Katie. She wasn't mine, but I took lessons. She is a great, fun, and cuddly horse. Now I don't ride them.

Some are simple, and some are not. If you want to show tone, it's best to start with smaller birds than others.

Almost everyone just chooses their favorite animal. I don't think most people actually think their favorite animal is the best one to draw, but in my opinion, this is definitely the best one to draw.

Penguins look so regal in every drawing. If you draw them, make sure any color really stands out because they live in such a dull environment.

I find birds really easy to draw, as you don't have to add all the fur details you would with mammals. Feathers are easier to draw as well.

Tigers are the most beautiful creatures. Their markings are so complex and unique. The eyes are probably what you should start with when drawing a tiger. If the eyes do not have pupils, the piece will look unfinished no matter what. Tigers are awesome!

Tigers have so many elements to focus on that can improve your drawing and coloring skills. From the fur pattern and directions to their beautiful eyes, they are majestic animals that are incredibly fun to draw.

Tigers really are the most beautiful animals you can draw. Yes, there are other beautiful animals, but I think the texture of the coat, the face - everything just makes it a good thing to draw to make an amazing piece of art.

I like how they have two thumbs.

17 Dinosaur

Spinosaurus is my favorite to draw, along with Stegosaurus. #7 on my list!

19 Phoenix A mythical bird from Greek mythology, the Phoenix is said to burst into flames upon death and be reborn from its ashes. Often associated with themes of rebirth and immortality, it is traditionally depicted as a large, colorful bird with a melodious song.

I have had quite a few dreams about phoenixes, and they are marvelous! Love drawing them too. You can have so much fun with the wings and the background.

The detail that can be put into these is amazing. They're the first thing I learned to draw, so that also makes them my favorite!

So beautiful! This is just such a swift and perfect bird. I recommend it if you are a bit more into drawing realistic things.

23 Unicorn

What is the best animal to think of that first comes to mind? The magical and amazing unicorn! My little sister loves unicorns. She makes me read her a story about unicorns. I guess that's how my sister and I love the unicorn.

Unicorns could be good or evil, and that makes them so unique that it is interesting to draw. Also, horses are very difficult to draw, but unicorns aren't real so they are open to interpretation!

I haven't really drawn one before, but I will soon. It would be cool to have an evil one and a good one rearing up to each other. Actually, I'm gonna do that now! Such a good idea!

24 Fennec Fox The fennec fox or fennec is a small nocturnal fox found in the Sahara of North Africa. Its most distinctive feature is its unusually large ears, which also serve to dissipate heat.

This is a very cute animal, making it awesome to draw. I love the simplicity of drawing one but also the challenge to draw realistically.
