JAnine Tugonon is most deseve with the crown.. I am not very satisfied that Usa is the winner if you watch the question and answer portion you will not satisfied with Usa why because Janine's answer is most have a Beautiful and interesting answer 'very truly why? She is Filipino and not actually know how to speak a English Language but she did her answer makes English and Fabulous.. Filipinos not using Interpreter.. So on the spot answering will do..

Beauty pageant is beauty pageant. there's nothing wrong with anyone's opinion so as with the answer of each finalist but I think we have to balance and consider things. I'am a Filipino by blood, heart and culture and I'm very proud on how Janine's answered question given to her but of course there's a board of judges and they're more powerful than everyone's decision. So just respect their decision if they really thought that the hailed winner should have been the winner.

I'm saying this noy because I'm a pilipino, but as I watched her answering the question, I saw from her face that she wants fairness. Whatever language you have, or whatever language you used to speak, its no matter what. What's matters most? Is how you educate and inspire people in your surroundings. At the end of the life of each person, the issue is not the language, it's the legacy you leave in this planet :). Therefore, I think she should won that pagaent. Thank you

2 Gloria Diaz of Philippines - Miss Universe 1969

Question: In the next day or so, a man will land on the moon. If a man from the moon landed in your hometown, what would you do to entertain him?

Gloria's Answer: "Oh, just the same things I do. I think if he has been on the moon for so long, I think when he comes over he wants to change, I guess. "

She is very kind. One time in 1970's rainy season, me and my mother was waiting for a jeepney to bring a lunch food for my brother who's working in CCP... We had no umbrella that time and we were so wet.. Then a car stops infront of us and a beautiful woman kindly offerring a ride.. And we were so surprised, esp. my mother because that beautiful woman is Ms. Gloria Diaz.

It's a question which everyone might need more time to think before they give their answer. And yet she answered it right after asking the question. The natural, and common sense answer gives her the crown. I think she is the top intelligent miss universe of all time :).

Totally awesome. She's very intelligent. I wish I can see her in the time of her beautiful days! Long live Ms. Universe 1969!

A very intelligent answer from a very strong woman inside!

7 Lara Dutta of India - Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta Bhupathi is an Indian actress, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Intercontinental 1997 and Miss Universe 2000. She was the second woman from India to be crowned Miss Universe, and has been the only delegate from India to win the crown since.

Question: Right now there is a protest going on right outside here calling the Miss Universe Pageant disrespectful of women. Convince them they are wrong.

Lara's Answer: "I think pageant I think pageants like the Miss Universe pageant gives us young women a platform to foray in the fields that we want to and forge ahead, be it entrepreneurship, be it the armed force, be it politics. It gives us a platform to voice our choices and opinions, and makes us strong, independent that we are today. "

The utmost outright standout with the best answer in a final question in Miss Universe history. Along being beautiful, she possesed so much confidence and class in this interview. They rythym and tone of her answer flowed like it was a question she knew will be asked and have memorised her answer... But no... it was spontaneous and she nailed it to perfection. I notice there are so many points she emphasised in her answer too - 1. MU is a platform 2. examples of the many fields one can undertake in this platform - armed forces, politics, entrepreneurship. 3. The benefits this platform can do for anyone (voice our choices and opinions)- it is where we are able to express ourselves and reach out to others or be the one who speakout for others 4. Finally, through achieving all these, we can become mindful, opinionated, independent and be a powerful and contributing citizens for your country and for the Universe alike - Undisputedly, the best answer in MU history for me!

Lara Dutta is a perfect blend of "Beauty with Brains" and "Beauty with Purpose". She is intelligent, witty, a fantastic orator, exudes confidence and carries herself with poise. You want to believe everything she says and she knew she has the title in her bag because she really has a presence. The best person to represent India in an International Pageant and make India and its citizens proud. Bravo to Lara Dutta for her commendable answers and presence.

Best answer ever. Looks even better when heard. I watched it live at that time and I knew She would win.

Still wondering what makes the first two answers ran 1 and 2. Janine didn't even win Miss Universe 2012. The pinoys are blindly nationalist. at least don't play with the facts

8 Gabriela Isler of Venezuela - Miss Universe 2013

She was the best this year

Amazing, the best of the best

The best Miss Universe ever

She is the best

9 Sushmita Sen of India - Miss Universe 1994

Question: What is the essence of being a woman?

Sushmita's Answer: "Just being a woman is God's gift that all of us must appreciate. The origin of a child is a mother, and is a woman. She shows a man what sharing, caring and loving is all about. That is the essence of a woman. "

The best honest answer ever in the Historyof the pageant, It may be short but carries a lot of depth... An intelligent answer... Awesome... An answer to come out of an 18 year old is too good to be true... Shes beautifulin and out and of course intelligent... Sushmita was one of the youngest contestant to represent India. And the most simple...

Ultimate summation of the essence of woman. Only an Indian of the calibre of sushmita can give such a loaded yet subtle answer.

Yep I believe it's all about the essence of being a woman, woman is a gift of god which all of us must appreciate, rightly said by shusmita.. Hatts off to all the women in the world..!

Her answer was simple but fruitful

The Contenders
11 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of Philippines - Miss Universe 2015

I think her answer is one of the best answers, if not the best, I heard delivered in a prestigious beauty pageant. Especially when she answered the final question 'why should you be the next miss universe? "

Pia Wurtzbach's answer was just perfect:

"To be Miss Universe is both an honor and a responsibility. If I would be Miss Universe I would use my voice to influence the youth and raise awareness to causes like HIV awareness that is timely and relevant to my country, the Philippines. I want to show the world, the universe rather, that I am confidently beautiful with a heart."

She knows very well why she is competing for the crown. She answered with intelligence, grace, beauty and elegance. She is truly regal! She is Miss Universe!

Philippines

Question: Earlier this year, there was a controversy in Philippines about the United States reopening a base in your country. Do you think the United States should have a military presence in your country?

Answer: I think that the United States and the Philippines have always had a good relationship with each other. We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture and our traditions even up to this day and I think that we're very welcoming with the Americans. And I don't see any problem with that at all.

FINAL ANSWER

Philippines

To be a Miss Universe is both an honor and responsibility. If I were to be Miss Universe, I will use my voice to influence the youth and I would raise awareness to certain causes like HIV awareness that is timely and relevant to my country which is the Philippines. I want to show the world, the universe rather, that I am confidently beautiful with a heart. Thank you.

Sorry to say this but, Miss Colombia's answer is too much what the attributes of a "Perfect" woman has, while with Miss USA, her answer is confident and came from her brain and heart but, she don't need to shout things that easily. What Miss Philippines, Pia, which is from my country is... she answers not only from her brain, not only from her heart, but she answered honestly with the people's heart. While she answers, she shows elegance, beauty and grace which a Miss Universe should have.

She really deserved to win, she truly expressed her inner thoughts about the things that are not likely to talk about, and answer the questions without any inhibitions. I really admire her.

12 Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela - Miss Universe 2008

Question: Which have it easier in life: men or women?

Dayana's Answer: "God made us to share and have differences, but big differences? I don't think so. The difference is that men think, they think that the faster way to go to a point is to go straight, and women know that the faster way to go to a point is go the curves and fix every curls".

She might not have fluency in English but her risk was totally worth it. Her answer, no doubt was the best one through out that evening and I really love that answer.

It's a prove that she is an intelectual ones here... She answer simple... But intelligently

I like the way she uses geometry to explain her answer.

13 Olivia Culpo of USA - Miss Universe 2012

Q: What is something that you have done, that you will never do again?

A: First I'd like to start off by saying that every experience, no matter what it is, good or bad, you'll learn from it. That's just life, but something I've done that I've probably regretted would be picking on my siblings growing up because you appreciate them so much more when you're older, you get closer with your family. Everybody fights with their siblings, right?! But I don't regret it.

She answered naturally and the answer led her to glorious victory.

I'm Filipino but I think Miss USA deserves the crown because it's from the heart. She answered it very well as what the question requires her to

Olivia Culpo won because USA is the host venue. Janine Tugonon must be the winner.

Philippines deserves it! usa didn't

14 Shamcey Supsup of Philippines - Miss Universe 2011

She's beautiful and no other women participating in that girls MU Pageant didn't get as high of scores as she did for dress and swim suit!

She is still the same Shamcey prior and after Miss Universe, and that is something. A real epitome of beauty in and out

She is the real epitome of beauty and bravery. Her answer is her opinion so it shouldn't be judged by people like us

The best woman represent the Philippines in MU pageant.

15 Brook Mahealani Lee of USA - Miss Universe 1997

That is the smartest answer ever! Outrageous = something that means you are doing excessively that the common wisdom will judge unappropriate ; a pageant girl has a sculptural body and weight fluctuations is something she had to handle in a healthy way.

Moreover, her answer was so funny that she entertained all the audience! I think she can do politics. And I remember that she gave the answer very fastly within 1 or 2 seconds. I love this girl! Not the prettiest MU but the smartest.

She should be number 1 of your top 10

The best so far because sometimes the line of questioning is different, and mostly answers are already fake just to go with the right answer. we know what is right and what is wrong. But sometimes, you have the right to twist the questions, sometimes you can argue or dis agree with it. This is the best answer for me with those silly questions, they we're answered with a silly answer as well... Laugh out loud

It was a very smart answer, in seconds, and natural, but the first answer was even much smarter, related with the future, how happy she would be as she was in that moment 1997 and that she would die with a big smile. In seconds and very natural. Really from her beautiful heart.

Very quirky answer, and so correct. Most women who come to compete in such pageants, would have thought a billion times over before answering this, but she had no qualms. Brilliant, witty and bold. Worth becoming a Miss Universe.

16 Renae Ayris of Australia - Miss Universe 2012

Question: "As someone who might be winning a modelling contract, how would you feel if you were told to lose weight or risk losing an assignment? "

Renae's Answer: "Thank you for that question. I feel really comfortable in the way I feel and I think that's really important. If someone told me that I'm overweight I would completely ignore it. As long as I'm feeling good within myself then that's all that matters. Thank you."

I love the way she deliver her answer... FIERCE

17 Venus Raj of Philippines - Miss Universe 2010

United States re-establishing military bases in the country:

"I think that the US and Philippines have always had a good relationship with each other. We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture and traditions even up to this day. I think we are very welcoming with the Americans and I don't see any problem with that at all."

Why she should be Miss Universe:

"To be a Miss Universe is an honor and a responsibility. If I were to be Miss Universe, I will use my voice to influence the youth and I would raise awareness to certain causes like HIV awareness to certain causes like HIV awareness that is timely and relevant to my country, which is the Philippines. I want to show the world " the universe rather " that I am confidently beautiful with a heart."

She was very confident to win in that day while answering the question

She's so very intelligent and the answers I like it so much because she know what is can she say about the question of military and why she should be the next ms.universe

The best Miss Universe Ever! She has the heart and mind of a true winner!

19 Riyo Mori of Japan - Miss Universe 2007

Question: What is the one lesson you learned as a child that still affects your life today?

Riyo's Answer: "I have been dancing since I was a child. I grew up among many students and teachers. I learned to always be happy, patient and positive. That is also what I want to teach to the next generation. Thank you. "

This is what kind of answer I want. The answer to each question doesn't need to be so direct and matter-of-factly. In my opinion an answer should come from the heart, simple but can relate to your experience. That is why I love her answer. Because her answer showed modesty and doesn't show off to better the other candidates answers.

I love Riyo Mori. She is so smart and intelligent. I always watch her Miss Japan 2007 and Miss Universe 2007 competitions.

I like Riyo because she is intelligent and smart. Her thoughts make her an an amazing woman.
